J.R. Graham: Cut loose by New York
J.R. Graham was released by the Yankees on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports. The 2011 fourth-round draft pick attempted to revive his professional career in the Yankees organization last season to no avail. Graham could only muster a 6.64 ERA and a 2.14 WHIP in 20.1 innings pitched at Triple-A last season. Given this rough stat line, it doesn't seem like he'll be anything more than an organizational depth piece if he manages to find a new organization to call home.

Twins' J.R. Graham: Designated for assignment Friday
J.R. Graham was designated for assignment Friday, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The Minnesota Twins brought Darin Mastroianni and Juan Centeno up from Triple-A, so two spots on the 40-man roster needed to be cleared for them. Graham was not good in his lone appearance out of the Twins bullpen, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk in 1.2 innings of work, which made him more expendable to the organization. He'll head back to the minors and act as organizational pitching depth going forward.
