The White Sox announced Wednesday that Nicky Delmonico will serve as the hitting coach for High-A Winston-Salem in 2022, signaling the end of his playing career, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.The 29-year-old had been on the open market since June, after the Reds released him from their Triple-A affiliate. Prior to that, Delmonico spent parts of four seasons in the big leagues from 2017 through 2020 -- all with the White Sox -- amassing a .224/.312/.384 slash line, 18 home runs, 57 RBI and three stolen bases in 574 career plate appearances.
