Diamondbacks' Kole Calhoun: Shifts to 60-day IL

Calhoun (hamstring) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

The 33-year-old has been on the injured list since April 28 and was ruled out 6-8 weeks after undergoing a procedure to excise the left semitendinosus tendon in his left hamstring, so the move won't significant affect his recovery timeline. Calhoun will now be eligible to be activated at the tail end of the original timetable in late June.

  • Pete Alonso 1B | BAL

Mets' Pete Alonso: Homers in loss

Alonso went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 12-5 loss to the Rays.

The homer was the sixth of 2021 for Alonso, but his first since April 25. The first baseman has hit just .148 in his last nine games, with Saturday's homer being his first RBI in that span. Perhaps the homer will get Alonso's bat going, although he's likely locked in as the Mets' starting first baseman for the foreseeable future regardless of his offensive performance.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Knocks in three

Bell went 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, two runs and three RBI in a 17-2 win over Arizona on Friday.

Bell knocked in two runs with a double in the first inning and collected another RBI on a fielder's choice groundout in the seventh. He entered the contest with just two hits over his past 17 at-bats, so he'll look to build some momentum off Friday's big effort. Bell is still slashing a paltry .154/.220/.341 on the campaign.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | CLE

Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Plates three in win

Hoskins went 3-for-5 with a three-RBI double and a run scored in Friday's 5-1 win over Toronto.

Hoskins came up clutch in Philadelphia's seventh-inning rally, hitting the go-ahead, three-run double. He came around to score on an Alec Bohm double. Through 161 plate appearances, Hoskins has a .247/.298/.473 slash line, eight home runs, 23 RBI, 25 runs scored and a stolen base. The first baseman has hit safely in nine of 13 games in May, going 13-for-46 (.283) in that span, although his last homer came on April 26.

  • Diamondbacks' Asdrubal Cabrera: Lands on injured list

Cabrera landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring Friday.

Cabrera left Thursday's game against the Marlins with the injury. An MRI revealed that it was serious enough to sideline him for at least 10 games, though it's not yet clear when he's expected to return. Nick Heath was called up in a corresponding move.

  • Diamondbacks' Asdrubal Cabrera: Set for MRI

Cabrera (hamstring) will undergo an MRI on Friday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Cabrera was diagnosed with a hamstring strain after exiting Thursday's contest early. The severity of the injury is not yet known, though the results of the imaging should shed light on a general timeline for Cabrera's return to the field.

  • Diamondbacks' Asdrubal Cabrera: Suffers hamstring injury

Cabrera was diagnosed with a strained right hamstring after exiting Thursday's contest.

Cabrera suffered the injury while stealing a base in the seventh inning. He had to be helped off the field by trainers and could be in line to miss some time. Josh VanMeter could be the beneficiary of Cabrera's absence.

  • Diamondbacks' Asdrubal Cabrera: Suffers apparent leg injury

Cabrera exited Thursday's game in the seventh inning with an apparent injury to his right leg, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Cabrera successfully stole second base but was hurt in the process. He was helped off the field by trainers, though there has been no official diagnosis to this point.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Nationals' Josh Bell: Slugs fourth homer

Bell went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Phillies.

Bell took Zach Eflin deep in the opening frame for his fourth homer of the season. He had only one home run through his first 13 games, but he has now delivered three in his last 11 contests. Overall, Bell still has an inflated 30.9 percent strikeout rate, which has limited him to a .140/.202/.326 line across 94 plate appearances.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

    Giants' LaMonte Wade: Reinstated, starting

Wade (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wade spent a week with Triple-A Sacramento on a rehab assignment but will be able to return to action after missing nearly a month with a left oblique strain. He's starting in left field and batting seventh in Thursday's game against the Pirates.
