Yankees' Luke Voit: Smashes 22nd homer
Voit went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's win over the Marlins.
Voit got ahold of a Nick Vincent cutter in the sixth inning, driving it over the right-field wall for a three-run blast. The homer extended Voit's major-league home run lead heading into the final day of the regular season. His 22 long balls are three more than the 19 hit by Jose Abreu, who ranks second in the category.

Dominic Smith DH | ATL
Mets' Dominic Smith: On bench in season finale
Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Though Smith will finish the season with back-to-back benchings, the 2020 campaign was an unequivocal success for the 25-year-old. Unless he enters the contest as a pinch hitter, Smith will wrap up the season with a .316/.377/.616 slash line to go with 10 home runs and 42 RBI over 199 plate appearances.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Cubs' Anthony Rizzo: Among several Cubs sitting
Rizzo is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
The Cubs have nothing really to play for in the regular-season finale with their playoff seeding set, so they will give Rizzo, Javier Baez, Ian Happ and others the day off. Jason Kipnis will serve as the first baseman against righty Reynaldo Lopez.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: On RBI-per-game pace
Abreu went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Saturday's 9-5 win over the Cubs.
Abreu finished off a five-run, fourth-inning rally with a three-run double to give the White Sox the lead and bring them back from an early deficit. The three RBI give Abreu 60 through 59 games and assures him of an RBI-per-game pace for the shortened season.

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Slugs 14th homer
Alonso went 2-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run during a 5-3 loss to the Nationals in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
He got the Mets on the board in the fourth inning by taking Anibal Sanchez deep, but New York was already in a 5-0 hole. Alonso's .222/.321/.453 slash line is a big step back from his performance as a rookie, but the 25-year-old has maintained his power stroke with 14 homers and 32 RBI through 56 games.

Mariners' Evan White: Homers in Game 2
White went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 win over the Athletics in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.
White contributed an RBI single in the third inning and came around to score on a Dee Strange-Gordon single as part of the Mariners' eight-run rally. In the fifth, White added a solo shot for his eighth homer of the year. The first baseman is up to 26 RBI, 19 runs scored and a .180/.258/.354 slash line over 53 contests.

Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW
Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: Goes yard Saturday
Dalbec went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 8-2 win over Atlanta.
Dalbec opened the scoring in the second inning with his blast off Atlanta starter Tucker Davidson. The Red Sox rallied for six more runs in the inning and cruised to the win. Dalbec has eight homers, 16 RBI, 12 runs scored and a .273/.356/.623 slash line in his first 22 major-league games.

Yandy Diaz DH | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Optimism for return growing
Diaz (hamstring) went through what manager Kevin Cash labeled a "lighter day" of workouts Saturday, and optimism remains high for his availability early in the postseason, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Diaz ran the bases and hit live pitching Friday, and although he wasn't as active Saturday, he remains on track to suit up sooner rather than later. Cash noted Diaz and fellow injured infielder Ji-Man Choi will have a more comprehensive workout again Monday, at which point there will be more clarity on both players for a postseason that begins Tuesday. Diaz will have some rust to work off when he does return, considering he last saw game action Aug. 31.

Dominic Smith DH | ATL
Mets' Dominic Smith: Not starting nightcap
Smith won't start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
Smith crashed into the wall in left field during the first game of the twin bill, but he remained in the game after being examined by trainers. He'll be available off the bench for the nightcap, but he'll get a breather after the Mets were eliminated from postseason contention.
