  • Joey Bart C | PIT

    Pirates' Joey Bart: Resting Sunday

Bart is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants.

After starting behind the plate in the Bucs' previous three games, Bart will get a breather for the series finale in San Francisco. Henry Davis will form a battery with starting pitcher Bubba Chandler on Sunday.

  • Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Suffers bruised hand

The Red Sox announced that Contreras was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays due to a bruised right hand, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Andruw Monasterio came on to replace Contreras at first base to begin the second inning, after the latter suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the first. While preliminary X-rays have seemingly ruled out any sort of fracture for Contreras, he could be subject to further tests on his hand. Contreras will benefit from a team off day Monday before the Red Sox begin a three-game series with the Phillies on Tuesday.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Resting up Sunday

Wells is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Wells will receive a breather after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series. J.C. Escarra will handle catching duties for the Yankees in the finale in Milwaukee.

  • Red Sox's Willson Contreras: Lifted after hit in hand by pitch

Contreras was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays after being hit in the hand by a pitch during his first-inning plate appearance, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

After taking a 94.2 mile-per-hour sinker to his hand, Contreras was able to take his base, but the Red Sox pulled him from the contest to begin the second inning. Contreras will presumably undergo X-rays on the hand as the Red Sox look to determine whether he's dealing with any structural damage.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Moves to cleanup spot

Raleigh will start at catcher and bat fourth in Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Raleigh had batted exclusively out of the two hole this season, but he'll be dropped a couple spots in the order while he remains in the midst of a prolonged lull at the dish. The 29-year-old has gone hitless in his last seven starts, going 0-for-29 with a 2:13 BB:K during that stretch to bring his slash line down to .164/.244/.366 for the season. The Mariners are hopeful that the move into the cleanup spot will help invigorate Raleigh's dormant bat.

  • Astros' Christian Vazquez: Heading to bench Sunday

Vazquez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Cesar Salazar will handle catching duties in the series finale while Vazquez rests. Vazquez is expected to see the bulk of the playing time behind the plate while Yainer Diaz (oblique) remains on the shelf, but the former will typically bat near the bottom of the Houston lineup and likely won't carry much fantasy intrigue outside of deeper two-catcher mixed leagues or AL-only leagues.

  • Giants' Daniel Susac: Multi-hit effort in rehab game

Susac (elbow) went 2-for-4 in Triple-A Sacramento's 2-1 loss to Reno on Friday.

Susac made his second rehab appearance in as many days, logging multiple hits in both contests. The 24-year-old catcher singled twice Friday and has gone 5-for-8 with three RBI and two long balls across eight plate appearances with Triple-A Sacramento. With Patrick Bailey now in Cleveland, Susac will likely step into a sizable role once he's reinstated from the injured list.

  • Angels' Sebastian Rivero: Serving as primary catcher

Rivero will start at catcher and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

He'll work behind the plate for the third game in a row and appears on track to operate as the Angels' No. 1 catcher in the short term while both Logan O'Hoppe (wrist) and Travis d'Arnaud (foot) are stuck on the injured list. Rivero has posted a .175/.230/.211 slash line over 123 career plate appearances in the majors and will provide most of his value as a defender rather than with the bat.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Plates two runs in win

Langeliers went 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Saturday's victory over the Orioles.

Langeliers opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning before driving in another run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth frame. It was another strong effort for the catcher, who currently owns a 10-game hitting streak, with seven multi-hit performances during that stretch. Overall, Langeliers has built on his breakout 2025 campaign with massive numbers through 35 appearances in 2026, slashing .340/.391/.626 with 11 homers, nine doubles, 22 RBI and 28 runs scored.

  • Eric Haase C | SF

Giants' Eric Haase: Logs RBI in loss

Haase went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Pirates.

After the Giants traded Patrick Bailey to the Guardians earlier in the day, Haase got the starting nod at catcher Saturday. The veteran catcher hit an RBI single in the ninth inning and is now slashing .286/.286/.429 with two runs scored and two RBI across 14 plate appearances this season. Until Daniel Susac (elbow) returns, Haase and Jesus Rodriguez will likely split playing time behind the plate.
