Odrisamer Despaigne: Stays in KBO
Odrisamer Despaigne signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Korea Baseball Organization's KT Wiz on Wednesday, the Yonhap News Agency reports. The contract also includes up to $300,000 in incentives that could increase the value of the deal to $1.1 million, a sum Despaigne likely wouldn't have come close to earning in 2021 had he opted to leave the KBO in pursuit of a return to affiliated ball. Before joining the Wiz last season, the 33-year-old made 109 appearances (50 starts) over stops with the Padres, Orioles, Marlins, Angels and White Sox from 2014 through 2019, logging a 5.11 ERA and 5.5 K/9.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Gives back lead in no-decision
Odrisamer Despaigne allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk over three-plus innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Rangers. The Chicago White Sox gave Despaigne a four-run first-inning lead, but he gave it all back in three innings. Nomar Mazara took him deep in the first and third innings to help erase the deficit. After three starts, the journeyman right-hander has a 9.45 ERA but could survive in the rotation for the time being. ''As far as we're concerned, Despaigne's here till he's not,'' White Sox manager Rick Renteria told Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times. ''Until we find a different option or we decide we need an option. Right now, we'll send him out there and allow him to do his job.'' If Despaigne remains in the rotation, his next turn comes Friday at home against the Twins.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Gives up seven runs in loss
Odrisamer Despaigne (0-2) gave up seven runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out five through 4.1 innings, taking the loss against the Yankees on Sunday. After two scoreless innings, Despaigne saw the wheels come off during his performance as he was crushed for five runs in the third inning and two more before he could get out of the fifth. After a solid outing in his first start earned him a second chance in the rotation, this start may cause his spot to be in question. The 32-year-old has an 8.71 ERA through two starts. If he stays in the rotation, Despaigne is currently scheduled to pitch again Saturday against the Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Starting again Sunday
Odrisamer Despaigne is listed as the Chicago White Sox's probable starter for Sunday's game against the Yankees.Despaigne was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to make his White Sox debut Monday, limiting the Nationals to three runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings to take the loss. The performance was apparently good enough for the White Sox to reward him with another turn through the rotation, but Despaigne could struggle to deliver another quality start while matching up with a high-powered Yankees offense.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Quality start in loss
Odrisamer Despaigne (0-1) took the loss against the Nationals on Monday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out two and walking two as the Chicago White Sox fell 12-1.Making his first start of the season after getting called up from Triple-A Charlotte, Despaigne turned in a quality start, but wound up taking the loss as he received just one run of support and his bullpen was shelled for nine earned runs. He could stay in the rotation for the moment, but Despaigne's 4.94 ERA over 349.2 career big-league innings makes it doubtful he'll become a consistent fantasy contributor.

White Sox's Odrisamer Despaigne: Summoned ahead of start
Odrisamer Despaigne had his contract purchased from Triple-A Charlotte ahead of his scheduled start against the Nationals on Monday.Despaigne is set to make his 2019 big-league debut after compiling a combined 3.34 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 59.1 innings (11 starts, one relief appearance) between Triple-A Louisville and Charlotte. The veteran swingman struggled to a 6.69 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 19 appearances (39 innings) with the Marlins and Angels last season, so it would be unwise to expect much from him Monday. Odrisamer Despaigne was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.Despaigne had a 6.69 ERA in 39 major-league innings last season with the Marlins and Angels, so he was always going to have a tough time capitalizing on his non-roster invitation.
