Dae-Ho Lee: Returns to Korean baseball

Dae-Ho Lee agreed to a deal with the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization, Jeeho Yoo of the Yonhap News Agency reports.Lee's major league career was very short-lived. In one season with the Mariners, the first baseman hit .253 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI over 104 games played. At 34 years old, a future return to the MLB seems unlikely.

Mariners' Dae-Ho Lee: Back to beating up on lefties

Dae-Ho Lee went 2-for-3 with a homer -- his first since July 31 -- a walk and two runs in Thursday's win over Texas.Since coming back from a brief stint in the minors, Lee's been on fire -- he's 13-for-33 (.394) with eight RBI in nine games, although this was obviously his first long ball in that span. Hitting lefties is Lee's specialty, and he did it again Thursday with the second-inning homer against Rangers southpaw Derek Holland. Expect the Korean slugger to continue starting against lefties for the remainder of the season.

He'll immediately rejoin the lineup Saturday, batting seventh and playing first base. Mariners' Dae-Ho Lee: Could be recalled Saturday

Dae-Ho Lee could be recalled Saturday from Triple-A Tacoma, as the Seattle Mariners are scheduled to face a string of left-handed pitchers the next couple weeks, the Seattle Times reports. If the Mariners put Tom Wilhelmsen on the DL, Lee will be brought back to add a right-handed bat to the bench. Lee was sent down last week after losing his way at the plate. But he's seems to be finding his stroke once again. In six games at Tacoma, Lee is 12-for-24 with three doubles, two homers and six RBI. Lee can only be brought back now as an injury replacement. Otherwise, he has to serve the 10-day minimum on a demotion to the minor leagues.

Mariners' Dae-Ho Lee: Out of lineup Tuesday

Dae-Ho Lee is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.Tuesday's absence marks Lee's second straight and fourth in the team's last five games against opposing right-handed starters. Lee was hitting right-handers even better than he was hitting lefties early on but he's struggled mightily overall since the All-Star break (.115/.246/.212), and it seems he may start primarily against lefties for the time being.

Mariners' Dae-Ho Lee: Returns to lineup Friday

Dae-Ho Lee (hand) is back in the lineup Friday against the Astros, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.A right hand contusion forced Lee from Saturday's game and kept him on the bench for the first-half finale, but he will slot back in Friday against right-hander Doug Fister. Lee began the year on the short end of a platoon but has hit right-handers (.859 OPS) even better than he's hit lefties (.829 OPS), and it seems he's now locked into a near-everyday role at first base.
