Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Coming back from forearm fatigue
Shane Bieber dealt with right forearm fatigue toward the end of this season, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. It's not clear exactly when the issue popped up for Bieber, who was the last Toronto Blue Jays hurler to throw a pitch in Game 7 of the World Series against the Dodgers, serving up a go-ahead home run to Will Smith in the top of the 11th inning. General manager Ross Atkins said Monday that Bieber is "in a strong position" and the righty being ready for Opening Day is "a very realistic outcome." While the concern for Bieber doesn't currently seem to be high, the forearm issue and past Tommy John surgery surely weighed into the pitcher's decision to exercise a $16 million player option rather than test the open market. More should be known about Bieber's health status during spring training.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Workload could be eyed this spring
Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said Monday that the team could monitor Shane Bieber's workload during spring training, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.Bieber isn't dealing with any known injury, but the Blue Jays will be careful with him in his first full season back from Tommy John surgery. The 30-year-old threw a total of 88 innings in 2025 after handling only 12 innings in 2024. Bieber exercised his $16 million player option for 2026 last month to remain with the Blue Jays rather than test the open market.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Staying in Toronto
Shane Bieber exercised his $16 million player option for 2026 on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. After falling just one game short of capturing his first World Series title, Bieber will opt into another year with the Toronto Blue Jays and receive a $6 million raise in the process. The 30-year-old right-hander missed the first several months of the 2025 season while working his way back from Tommy John surgery but returned in time to make seven regular-season starts and post a 3.57 ERA across 40.1 innings. It remains to be seen how his surgically repaired elbow will hold up over the course of a full season, but the 2020 AL Cy Young Award winner is still deserving of fantasy attention heading into 2026.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Takes win in Game 4
Shane Bieber earned the win during Game 4 of the World Series against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing one earned run on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters across 5.1 innings.Bieber allowed the Dodgers to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning courtesy of a sacrifice fly from Enrique Hernandez, but the right-hander settled in nicely afterward, allowing just two of the next 12 batters he faced to reach base. He also did the Toronto Blue Jays' bullpen -- extremely fatigued from Monday's 18-inning marathon -- a solid by pitching into the sixth inning. Mason Fluharty returned the favor after Bieber's removal by stranding both of the inherited runners, keeping the latter in line for the win. Now carrying a 3.57 ERA through 17.2 innings in the postseason, the 30-year-old figures to have made his last start, though he could be available out of the bullpen going forward.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Hangs tough in ALCS Game 7
Shane Bieber allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over 3.2 innings during Monday's 4-3 win in Game 7 over the Mariners. He didn't factor into the decision.Bieber was hit hard early in Monday's outing, as Seattle got to him for a run in the top of the first inning, and Julio Rodriguez would deliver a go-ahead solo home run in the top of the third. While seven hits in fewer than four frames doesn't often result in success, Bieber managed to navigate around traffic on the bases to keep his club in the game, later exiting with a one-run deficit. Overall, the veteran right-hander delivered a solid ALCS, surrendering four runs on 11 hits and two walks while striking out 13 across 9.2 innings (two starts). He'll certainly be leaned on in the World Series against the Dodgers and will likely be tapped to start either Game 2 or Game 3.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Quality start in Game 3
Shane Bieber picked up the win in Game 3 of the ALCS against the Mariners on Wednesday, allowing two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out eight batters over six innings. The right-hander's day got off to a shaky start, as he allowed a leadoff walk to Randy Arozarena before serving up a two-run homer to Julio Rodriguez to give Seattle a 2-0 lead with one out in the first inning. Bieber did a tremendous job settling in afterward, collecting the next 17 outs while surrendering just three additional hits, while a 13-run outburst from Toronto's offense gave the 30-year-old far more support than he needed to leave the ballpark with a win. Bieber is lined up to possibly retake the mound in Game 7, if the series makes it that far.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Drawing start for Game 3
Shane Bieber will start Wednesday's Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Mariners, Nick Camino of WKYC Channel 3 Cleveland reports.Bieber was unable to provide the Toronto Blue Jays with much stability during his last outing in Game 3 of the ALDS against the Yankees, surrendering three runs (two earned) over 2.2 innings of work. Toronto desperately needs Bieber to come through with a quality appearance in Seattle after dropping the first two games of the ALCS at home, though he'll likely be on a short leash considering the club can't afford to go down 3-0 in the series.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Short hook in no-decision
Shane Bieber did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees in Game 3 of the American League Division Series. He was charged with three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk, striking out two over 2.2 innings.Bieber didn't have his best stuff, as evidenced by the fact that he recorded just five swings-and-misses. Manager John Schneider turned to his bullpen in the third inning and the relief crew was unable to hold the lead, affording the Yankees new life in the series. Bieber made only seven starts during the regular season, but that was after an arduous rehab from Tommy John surgery, so it's understandable that he's running on fumes a bit here at the end.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Tallies fourth win
Shane Bieber (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's contest against the Rays, conceding two runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings. This wasn't Bieber's sharpest performance, as he generated only nine whiffs out of his 90 total pitches. Both runs the Toronto right-hander allowed came on solo homers in the second, with Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda going deep. Following a return from Tommy John surgery in mid-August, Bieber produced a 3.57 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB across 40.1 regular-season innings. The one-time Cy Young Award winner's performance in the playoffs will likely have a heavy bearing on his 2026 draft price.

Blue Jays' Shane Bieber: Saddled with second loss
Shane Bieber (3-2) conceded two runs on four hits and one walk over 6.1 innings to take the loss Saturday against Kansas City. He struck out four. The Toronto right-hander picked up his second consecutive quality start, as both runs he yielded came on back-to-back solo homers by Bobby Witt and Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning. The one-time Cy Young Award winner has been splendid in his 35.1 total innings, pitching to a 3.57 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 34:5 K:BB. Bieber is tentatively slated to make his final start of the season at home against the Red Sox next week; however, that could change if the Toronto Blue Jays shuffle around their rotation in preparation for the playoffs.
