Cristian Pache is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates.With Derek Hill (shoulder) requiring a trip to the injured list, Pache seemed to have settled into a regular role in center field, making four straight starts from Tuesday through Friday. However, Pache now finds himself on the bench for the third straight contest, with all three absences coming against right-handed starters. Pache looks like he may have to settle for the short side of a platoon in center field with either Kyle Stowers or Javier Sanoja.

The 25-year-old appears to be on the short side of a platoon with Nick Gordon in center for the Miami Marlins, but Pache's elite defense could allow him to claim more playing time if he can make any kind of contribution with his bat. While Pache's .209/.296/.273 slash line in 125 plate appearances between the Phillies, Orioles and Marlins is poor, Gordon hasn't been much better with a .227/.258/.369 line.
