Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Tears meniscus at Triple-A

Seattle Mariners manager Justin Hollander said Monday that Ryan Bliss (biceps) tore the meniscus in his right knee while on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and is out for the rest of the season, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports.Bliss had been on the shelf since April 9 due to a left biceps tear that required surgery, but he appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 60-day injured list after going 5-for-13 with three doubles, four walks, two stolen bases and seven RBI through his first six rehab games with Tacoma. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old infielder, he seemingly suffered the knee injury over the weekend and required another surgery Monday. Hollander didn't provide a timeline for Bliss' return from the knee procedure, but if Bliss required a full repair of the meniscus, he could be out of action for the start of spring training.

Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Nearing rehab assignment

Ryan Bliss (biceps) could begin a rehab assignment as early as next week, Zac Hereth of SeattleSports.com reports. The Seattle Mariners plan for Bliss to get 40-to-50 at-bats in the minors before activating him from the 60-day injured list. The 25-year-old second baseman appears to be ahead of schedule in his recovery from a left biceps tear that's kept him on the shelf since early April, and a return at some point in mid-September isn't out of the question. Once he's cleared to rejoin Seattle, the righty-hitting Bliss figures to work on the short side of a platoon with the lefty-hitting Cole Young at the keystone.

Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Fields grounders Saturday

Ryan Bliss (biceps) took grounders on the field ahead of Saturday's game against the Rangers, per MLB.com.Bliss is recovering from a left biceps tear, which has kept him sidelined for nearly four months. At this point, the Seattle Mariners are hoping that the 25-year-old second baseman will be able to at least return by the end of the season, so he's increasingly unlikely to have any fantasy relevance in 2025. The lefty-hitting Cole Young should continue to serve as Seattle's primary option at the keystone in Bliss' stead.

The Seattle Mariners transferred Ryan Bliss (biceps) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.Bliss is expected to miss up to five months after he underwent surgery Friday to repair a left biceps tear, so his move to the 60-day IL won't affect his timeline. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for infielder Ben Williamson, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Tacoma.
