Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Placed on injured list
The Miami Marlins placed Vidal Brujan on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder AC joint sprain.Brujan has gone 5-for-20 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last five games, but he will now have to sit out until at least Sept. 10 as a result of his shoulder injury. Jose Devers was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move and is a candidate to see time at shortstop while Brujan is out, though Xavier Edwards (back) would almost certainly reclaim an everyday role if he's able to make it back from the IL before Brujan.

Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Filling in for injured Edwards
Vidal Brujan will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rockies.Brujan will pick up a third consecutive start at shortstop in place of Xavier Edwards (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. The Miami Marlins opted to call up an extra outfielder (Griffin Conine) from Triple-A Jacksonville rather than an infielder to replace Edwards on the active roster, so Brujan looks like he could have a clear path to a full-time role while Edwards is on the shelf. Brujan flashed an interesting blend of power and speed during his time in the minors, but he's produced an underwhelming .638 OPS over 259 plate appearances with Miami this season and hasn't been efficient on the basepaths (five stolen bases in 10 attempts) either.

Marlins' Vidal Brujan: Gets start in center field
Vidal Brujan went 0-for-3 with a walk in Monday's loss to the Reds.Getting the start in center field and batting eighth, Brujan made little impact at the plate, but his arrow is pointed up for fantasy purposes. The 26-year-old switch hitter is batting .231 (6-for-26) since the All-Star break with three doubles, a steal, an RBI, five runs scored and a 6:7 BB:K, and with Nick Gordon booted off the roster, Brujan will compete with Cristian Pache and Derek Hill for playing time in center field.
