The Marlins activated Brujan (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports. Brujan has been out all month due to a right shoulder AC joint sprain but is ready to return after playing a couple rehab games with Triple-A Jacksonville. He should see a good amount of playing time down the stretch in a super-utility role.

Brujan (shoulder) resumed taking part in baseball activities last weekend, MLB.com reports. Brujan landed on the injured list Aug. 31 with a right shoulder AC joint sprain, an injury that manager Skip Schumaker said had been bothering the 26-year-old for much of the season. Though Brujan is showing daily improvement, it's not clear whether he'll have enough time to fully heal from the injury before the Marlins' season ends Sept. 29.

The Marlins placed Brujan on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder AC joint sprain. Brujan has gone 5-for-20 with two RBI and two runs scored over his last five games, but he will now have to sit out until at least Sept. 10 as a result of his shoulder injury. Jose Devers was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move and is a candidate to see time at shortstop while Brujan is out, though Xavier Edwards (back) would almost certainly reclaim an everyday role if he's able to make it back from the IL before Brujan.

Brujan will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Rockies. Brujan will pick up a third consecutive start at shortstop in place of Xavier Edwards (back), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. The Marlins opted to call up an extra outfielder (Griffin Conine) from Triple-A Jacksonville rather than an infielder to replace Edwards on the active roster, so Brujan looks like he could have a clear path to a full-time role while Edwards is on the shelf. Brujan flashed an interesting blend of power and speed during his time in the minors, but he's produced an underwhelming .638 OPS over 259 plate appearances with Miami this season and hasn't been efficient on the basepaths (five stolen bases in 10 attempts) either.

Brujan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies. Brujan will hit the bench for the series finale in Philadelphia after he had started in each of Miami's last three games while going 1-for-8 with a solo home run and a walk. The switch-hitting Brujan should have a regular spot in the lineup versus right-handed pitching, but his spot in the everyday lineup may not be fully secure just yet.
