Brewers' J.B. Bukauskas: Dealing with oblique injury

Manager Pat Murphy said Wednesday that J.B. Bukauskas (shoulder) is recovering from an oblique strain, and the Milwaukee Brewers are hopeful that he'll be available for game action "by the end of September," MLB.com reports.Bukauskas was initially placed on the injured list back on April 14 with a right lat strain, but the Brewers later reclassified the injury as a right tricep strain. He then experienced a setback with his shoulder during a June 13 rehab appearance, resulting in him being shut down again. Bukauskas resumed his rehab assignment in late July, but he made just three appearances in the minors before apparently tweaking his oblique at some point along the way. While the Brewers are optimistic that Bukauskas will make it back from the IL during the final month of the season, it's not clear when he'll be ready to start up his rehab assignment for a third time.

Brewers' J.B. Bukauskas: Hits snag, but MRI clean

J.B. Bukauskas (triceps) experienced a setback with his shoulder during his rehab appearance June 13 with Triple-A Nashville, but Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that an MRI came back clean, MLB.com reports.Bukauskas has been on the injured list since April 14 with a right lat strain, with the team later reclassifying his injury as a right triceps strain. Though he was able to complete his scheduled inning in his first rehab outing with Nashville, Bukauskas reported significant discomfort in his shoulder the next day. Fortunately for Bukauskas, he doesn't look to be dealing with anything more than inflammation, and Murphy said that the right-hander will be able to resume throwing once the swelling subsides. If he's cleared to report back to Nashville shortly after he starts throwing again, Bukauskas could have a shot to return from the IL before the All-Star break.
