Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Optioned back to OKC
The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned Bobby Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports. The move comes one day after another poor start in which Miller surrendered four runs on seven hits and one walk across two innings against the Marlins. He's managed an ugly 8.52 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in a horribly disappointing 2024 campaign. The Dodgers have not yet announced a replacement for Miller's spot in the rotation.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Struggles continue vs. Marlins
Bobby Miller allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings in a no-decision Tuesday against Miami. His ERA is up to an ugly 8.52 on the year with a 1.77 WHIP and 52:30 K:BB across 56 innings. Miller would currently line up for a home start next week against the Padres, should the Los Angeles Dodgers elect to give him another look in the rotation.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Another ugly outing
Bobby Miller did not factor into the decision in a win over the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out two.Miller got knocked around early, issuing back-to-back walks, followed by back-to-back singles with two outs in the first inning. He would surrender two runs in the frame before then going on to give up two long balls between the third and fifth innings. It marked Miller's second consecutive start in which he allowed at least six runs, and he's now given up multiple home runs in five of his last six outings. The right-hander's ERA now sits at an atrocious 8.17 for the season.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Yields three homers
Bobby Miller (2-4) allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks while striking out eight over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Angels.Miller yielded a season-high three home runs, including Mickey Moniak's three-run blast in the first inning. This was the worst of Miller's four starts since he returned to the majors in mid-August. He's now at a 7.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 48:25 K:BB over 49.2 innings through 11 starts this year. He is reportedly pitching through a left knee issue, but it's not expected to cost him time. He's tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs, though Miller could lose his spot on the 28-man roster to Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) when the latter makes his return to action Tuesday.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Managing knee issue
Bobby Miller revealed after Thursday's win over the Orioles that he's been dealing with a left knee issue, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.Miller has been dealing with the injury for a bit and tweaked the knee during the second inning Thursday, but he remained in the game and got through five frames while allowing three runs. The righty said it's something he can manage for the rest of the season, so it doesn't appear at this point that he's in danger of missing any time. Miller holds a 5.74 ERA and 13:4 K:BB over 15.2 innings covering three starts since rejoining the Los Angeles Dodgers' rotation earlier this month.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Picks up second win
Bobby Miller (2-3) earned the win over the Orioles on Thursday, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out three.Miller kept the Orioles off the scoreboard through the first four innings despite issuing two walks in the third, producing three strikeouts over that stretch. He began to stumble in the fifth, however, hitting Eloy Jimenez with a pitch to open the frame before eventually coughing up a three-run shot to Colton Cowser. It was enough to earn the right-hander his first win since Mar. 29. Miller has lasted five or more innings in each of his last two starts, though he's surrendered at least three runs in four straight. Thursday also marked the sixth time in his last eight outings that he walked three or more batters.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Turns in quality start
Bobby Miller allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out nine without walking a batter over six innings Friday, coming away with a no-decision versus the Rays.Miller wasn't great last Saturday in St. Louis in his return to the majors, but he was a little better in this one. His nine strikeouts were his most since he fanned 11 in his season debut March 29, and Friday's quality start was his second in nine outings for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Miller is now at a 7.49 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 37:19 K:BB through 39.2 innings. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Orioles next week and will likely stay in the rotation until one of Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) or Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is ready to return. Yamamoto, who is on the 60-day injured list, is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week, while Glasnow has yet to resume throwing after landing on the IL on Aug. 16, so Miller certainly has a chance to get a longer look in the majors.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Receiving another start
Bobby Miller is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Rays at Dodger Stadium. At least while Tyler Glasnow (elbow) and Yoshinobu Yamamoto (tricep) are on the injured list, the Los Angeles Dodgers are opting to keep Miller in the rotation as their No. 5 starter over Justin Wrobleski, who was optioned to Triple-A over the weekend. Miller returned from Triple-A to make his first start for the Dodgers since July 9 this past Saturday, when he took a loss to the Cardinals. The command and control problems that plagued Miller when he was up with the Dodgers earlier this season reared their head again in St. Louis, as he was charged with four earned runs on eight hits and one walk while also throwing four wild pitches. Even with a relatively favorable matchup on tap against the Rays at home, Miller's recent form makes it difficult to stream him with much confidence.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Inefficient in loss
Bobby Miller (1-3) took the loss against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk over 4.2 innings while striking out one.Miller struggled with his command from the jump, allowing singles to two of the first three batters he faced in the contest before throwing two wild pitches in the opening frame. The right-hander would then fail to retire the leadoff man in three of his next four innings of work while also coughing up two homers on the night. Miller has been unable to make it through five innings in both of his last two starts (with the previous one coming back on July 9) while giving up multiple homers on each occasion. On a positive note, Saturday marked the first time in his last eight outings that Miller didn't walk multiple batters, though he did throw four wild pitches.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Officially recalled
Bobby Miller was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to his start Saturday against the Cardinals.Miller hasn't necessarily been pitching well at Triple-A, logging a 5.54 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and as many walks (11) as strikeouts in 13 innings over his last three starts. The Los Angeles Dodgers are searching for answers at the back of the rotation, so if he pitches well, he'll stick up, but some more shaky outings could lead to Miller heading back to Triple-A.
