Indians P Scott Atchison happy with rehab assignment
Cleveland Indians pitcher Scott Atchison was pleased enough with his rehab assignment on Wednesday that he said he's ready to rejoin the team's bullpen, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Atchison didn't allow a run during his time in the eighth inning during a rehab assignment in Akron. Atchison has been on the disabled list due to an ankle injury. "I think I'm ready to go," Atchison said. "I don't know the exact date yet. I don't know when they're going to make the final decision. But it was one outing and I'm ready. "We'll just see what they have to say about it and when they want to do it."

Indians RP Scott Atchison (ankle) placed on 15-day disabled list
The Cleveland Indians have placed pitcher Scott Atchison on the 15-day disabled list, the team announced Thursday. Atchison has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain. The 39-year-old right-hander has made 19 appearances for the Indians this season, holding a 1-1 record and a 5.74 ERA in 15 2/3 innings. Pitcher Austin Adams and outfielder Jerry Sands were recalled from Triple-A, with first baseman Carlos Santana also going on the paternity list.

Indians SP Trevor Bauer and company flirt with no-hitter
Cleveland Indians starter Trevor Bauer flirted with a no-no on Thursday against the Astros, but still managed to pick up the win in his first start of the season. Bauer (1-0) was pulled with a no-hitter after throwing 111 pitches through six innings. He struck out a career-high 11 and walked five. Kyle Crockett and Scott Atchison each pitched a scoreless inning, respectively before Jed Lowrie broke up a combined no-hit bid with a one-out solo home run in the ninth inning off Nick Hagadone. Bauer will return to the mound Wednesday at home against the White Sox. He pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings last season against Chicago.

Scott Atchison nails down second save of the season
Cleveland Indians reliever Scott Atchison had some issues with his command, but managed to escape a rough outing with his second save of the season Monday afternoon against the Royals. Atchison allowed a run-scoring single to Norichika Aoki in the 10th inning before closing out a 4-3 win, resuming a game that was suspended 21 days ago in Kansas City. Atchison owns a 2.66 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP over 71 innings of relief.

Atchison made the lead stand up, but not before a bit of drama. He allowed the Orioles to cut the lead to one on a leadoff home run by Nick Markakis, before closing the door with just 12 pitches. Atchison has mostly pitched in middle relief for the Indians this season, and has done a remarkable job. He has a 1.64 ERA in 22 innings of work overall.
