Hogan Harris (4-4) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing a game-winning solo home run to the only batter he faced.Closer Mason Miller had garnered a 21-pitch save Friday night, so Harris was called on to preserve a 6-6 tie in the ninth Saturday. There wasn't much suspense before he proved he wasn't up to the task, as Andrew Benintendi took Harris deep to right field on the fourth pitch he saw from the left-hander for the game-winning hit. Hogan Harris (4-3) got the extra-innings win against the Astros on Tuesday, allowing an unearned run on one hit over two innings. He struck out three.Harris breezed through his first frame in the 11th while preserving a 2-2 tie, striking out two of the three batters he faced. He returned for the 12th after the Oakland Athletics had rallied for two runs in the top half of the frame, and although he allowed a double to Jose Altuve, Harris subsequently bore down and retired the dangerous trio of Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman to end the game. The Oakland Athletics recalled Hogan Harris from Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.Harris has been relatively effective in the big leagues this season, putting up a 2.98 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 54.1 innings. However, he's turned in a 4.94 ERA and 1.83 WHIP over 27.1 frames since being sent to Triple-A in late July. He'll presumably work out of the bullpen until he's able to find some consistency, at which point he could return to Oakland's rotation. Dany Jimenez was optioned to Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Hogan Harris owns a 2-2 record, 4.94 ERA and 1.83 WHIP across 27.1 innings over five starts since being optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on July 26.The poor ratios are largely the result of Harris' last two starts, during which he surrendered 12 runs (11 earned) on 16 hits (three home runs) and five walks across 9.1 innings.
