The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired James Tibbs and outfielder Zach Ehrhard from the Red Sox on Thursday in exchange for right-hander Dustin May.Tibbs is on the move for the second time this season after the Red Sox previously acquired him from the Giants on June 15 as part of the return in the Rafael Devers deal. The 22-year-old outfielder had provided a .207/.319/.267 slash line over 138 plate appearances for Double-A Portland prior to being shipped to Los Angeles.

James Tibbs has been assigned to Double-A Portland following his trade to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster reports.Tibbs was dealt to Boston as a part of a trade that sent Rafael Devers to the Giants on Sunday. The former has impressed this year with High-A Eugene, batting .246 with 23 extra-base hits, including 12 homers, over 57 games. Tibbs will now get his first taste of Double-A action with Portland.

Red Sox's James Tibbs: Dealt to Boston
James Tibbs was traded to the Boston Red Sox in a deal that brought back Rafael Devers to the Giants on Sunday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.Tibbs has posted a .246 average with 12 home runs, 32 RBI, 41 runs scored and three stolen bases over 57 games with High-A Eugene this season. The outfielder, along with left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison, right-handed reliever Jordan Hicks (toe) and minor-league right-hander Jose Bello were all sent to Boston in return for Devers. Tibbs will now likely report to High-A Greenville with Boston's organization.

Giants' James Tibbs: Already up to High-A
James Tibbs was promoted from Single-A San Jose to High-A Eugene on Tuesday.Tibbs, selected 13th overall in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft, was assigned to Single-A on Aug. 8 without playing any rookie-league games. He quickly proved himself at San Jose, going 17-for-41 (.415) with four doubles, two RBI and nine runs scored over nine contests. He'll get a new challenge at High-A, which is likely where he'll close out 2024, though his 26.2 percent strikeout rate from Single-A will be something to keep an eye on as he moves up the ranks.
