Pirates' Adam Frazier: Not in Thursday's lineup

Frazier is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Frazier is riding a four-game hitting streak, but manager Clint Hurdle decided to hold him out Thursday. Matt Joyce will enter the lineup in Frazier's place, and John Jaso will replace him atop the order.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Homers for third consecutive day

Drury went 3-for-5 with a homer, two RBI and two runs against the Rockies on Wednesday.

He homered in all three games of this series and now has a six-game hitting streak going in which he's ripped opposing pitching for 13 knocks -- seven of them for extra bases. That makes Drury an appealing down-the-stretch fantasy pickup in leagues where he was cut loose following a lengthy slump that lasted from June through August.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Goes 4-for-5 Monday

Drury went 4-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored in Monday's win over the Rockies.

Drury has been getting fairly regular at-bats lately in left field, although he started at second in this one. He's been pretty solid with the bat all season, so when he is starting, Drury makes for a good bargain play in daily leagues. This is especially true when he's at home, where his OPS has been more than 100 points higher this year.

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Hitting leadoff Monday

Frazier will man left field and hit leadoff in Monday's game against the Phillies.

Frazier will atop the order Monday with Josh Harrison (groin) out and the Pirates facing a right-handed starter. The rookie will then play the outfield Monday with Starling Marte (back) still out, but with Harrison likely miss the rest of the season, Frazier could see more opportunities both at second base and out of the leadoff spot moving forward.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Set to undergo surgery next week

Allies (elbow) will undergo surgery on his fractured elbow next week, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.

The initial timetable the Braves released is favorable for Albies, as they expect the infield prospect to begin rehabbing immediately after surgery and resume baseball activities in January. This could get him ready in time for spring training, although his exact return date should emerge as his rehab process progresses over the offseason.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Diagnosed with fractured elbow

Albies (elbow) was diagnosed with a fractured elbow, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Albies fractured the elbow own a hard-hit foul ball in the sixth inning of Wednesday's playoff game. Fortunately, there's still hope that the 19-year-old will be ready when spring training rolls around, but that's dependent on how quickly he can progress through his rehab process. This setback may also delay when the top prospect makes his much-anticipated major league debut next season if the Braves play things extra cautiously, but this whole situation should become clearer over the course of the offseason.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Placed on minor league DL

Albies was placed on the 7-day DL with Double-A Mississippi on Thursday due to an elbow injury he suffered in Wednesday's playoff game.

He suffered what seems to be a serious elbow injury in Wednesday's game and exited immediately. Early reports suggest there is no ligament damage, but he will meet with Dr. James Andrews nonetheless. If it is a fracture, Albies could be ready to go by the time spring training rolls around. Stay tuned for an update when the team announces the exact nature of the injury and a corresponding timetable for Albies' return.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Suffers arm injury at Double-A

Albies left Wednesday's playoff game for Double-A Mississippi with an apparent elbow injury, the Atlanta Journal Constitution's David O'Brien reports.

He immediately grabbed his arm after a swing in Wednesday's game, so the injury could be somewhat serious. There is expected to be an official announcement from the Braves regarding the injury later Thursday.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandon Drury: Out of lineup Wednesday

Drury is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Socrates Brito will get the start in place of Drury in left for Wednesday's game with Arizona facing right-hander Brock Stewart. Wednesday marks Drury's third absence from the lineup since rosters expanded at the beginning of the month as Brito has begun to cut into his playing time a bit.

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: .390 in his last 10 games

Lux has hit .390 in his last 10 games and between two levels of rookie ball is batting .298/.377/.404 overall.

The 18-year-old, 2016 first-round pick doesn't have a home run in his 218 at-bats, but those should come in time as his body fills out. He's shown an advanced approach at the plate and should open 2017 with Low-A Great Lakes.
