Chien-Ming Wang was released by the Royals on Thursday, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.He was designated for assignment on Sept. 17 and the two sides opted to part ways. Wang logged a 4.22 ERA and awful 30:18 K:BB in 53.1 innings out of the Royals' bullpen this season. He has not pitched since being placed on the DL with biceps tendinitis on Aug. 31.
