Giants' Bochy will avoid using Santiago Casilla for a few days
San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday he is going to stay away from closer Santiago Casilla for a few days due to general fatigue. Bochy said Casilla looked a little tired after the right-hander suffered his fourth blown save during a 6-5 loss to the Marlins on Wednesday. Casilla could not protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning, as he recorded no outs and allowed a three-run, walk-off homer to Justin Bour. Casilla allowed three hits in the inning. Prior to Wednesday's meltdown, Casilla had thrown nine straight scoreless outings. He allowed two hits and two walks, while striking out eight in 7 1/3 innings during that span. Bochy said if a save situation arises in the next few days, then he will play the matchups using relievers Sergio Romo and Javier Lopez.

Giants' Javier Lopez to make spring debut Tuesday
San Francisco Giants pitcher Javier Lopez (biceps) said Monday that he feels good and that he's ready to pitch Tuesday, CSNBayArea.com reports. Lopez has been dealing with mild biceps tendinitis, delaying the start of his Cactus League schedule. He threw a bullpen session Saturday and presumably came through with no issues. Lopez made 65 appearances with the Giants last season, going 1-1 with a 3.11 ERA and 22:19 K:BB ratio in 37 2/3 innings.
