Rays DH Grady Sizemore gets optioned to Triple-A Durham
Tampa Bay Rays designated hitter Grady Sizemore has been optioned to Triple-A Durham, according to The Tampa Tribune. Sizemore, who it hitting .231 with two home runs and 13 RBI, will go to Durham to try and get more at-bats and a bigger workload.

Grady Sizemore hits solo homer for Rays
Tampa Bay Rays right fielder Grady Sizemore hit a solo home run in Friday's loss to Toronto. Sizemore went went 1 for 4 and went deep for the second time this year. It was his first homer since June 29. The home run snapped a 19 at-bat hitless streak spanning seven games.

John Jaso returns to Rays' lineup at DH
John Jaso will return to the Tampa Bay Rays' lineup in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader. Jaso has been out since Opening Day with a wrist contusion. He completed a minor league rehab assignment on Monday and was activated from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday. Jaso is playing designated hitter and batting leadoff. His return moves Grady Sizemore to left field. Sizemore has started six games at DH since joining the team.

Rays DH Grady Sizemore hits first home run of season Monday
Tampa Bay Rays designated hitter Grady Sizemore provided the only offense for the Rays during Monday's 7-1 loss to the Indians. Sizemore broke up Cody Anderson's perfect game in the seventh inning when Sizemore hit a solo home run. It was his only hit in four at-bats during the game. "It just felt good to come up with a big hit in a situation where we needed it, but beyond that, you're just kind of thinking about how we didn't pull out the win today," he said, per MLB.com. Monday was his second game since signing with the Rays. Sizemore also played for the Phillies, which released him after hitting .262 in 103 at-bats this season.

Rays promote Grady Sizemore; option Matt Andriese to Triple-A
The Tampa Bay Rays called up Grady Sizemore for Sunday's game against the Red Sox, the team announced. Sizemore was recently signed by the Rays after being released by the Phillies. Sizemore will bat second and be the designated hitter for Sunday's contest. Meanwhile, to make room for Sizemore, the team optioned pitcher Matt Andriese to Triple-A. Andriese tossed six scoreless innings during his start Saturday.

Grady Sizemore makes minor league debut for Rays
Outfielder Grady Sizemore made his debut in the Tampa Bay Rays organization on Monday with an appearance in Class A Charlotte. Sizemore played left field, batted fifth and went 0 for 2 in a rain-shortened game. He flew out twice to right and made one putout in left field. Sizemore signed with the Rays on June 15 after he was released by the Phillies.

Rays sign outfielder Grady Sizemore to minor-league deal
Veteran outfielder Grady Sizemore has found a new home with the Tampa Bay Rays. Sizemore, who was released by the Phillies on June 1, signed a minor-league deal with Tampa Bay, the team announced Monday. Sizemore, who will turn 33 years old on Aug. 2, was let go by Philadelphia after hitting a disappointing .245 with no home runs, five doubles and six RBI in 39 games. Sizemore's career has been beset by injuries, but prior to dealing with a myriad of injuries, he was a three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner with the Indians.

Phillies designate outfielder Grady Sizemore for assignment
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Grady Sizemore was designated for assignment Friday to clear a roster spot for Cody Asche, who was recalled from the minors. Sizemore had made 23 starts, including 21 in right field, which was the second-most on the team behind Jeff Francoeur (25 starts in RF). The veteran outfielder hit .245 with no home runs, five doubles, six RBI, four runs, six walks and 23 strikeouts in 39 games.
