The 35-year-old has formerly served in the larger portion of a platoon in the corner outfield for the Dodgers, but with the team having recently acquired the lefty-hitting Curtis Granderson to fill that role, Ethier may be limited mostly to pinch-hitting duties in September. Since he's not a lock to be included on the Dodgers' postseason roster, Ethier's days with Los Angeles could be numbered, as the team will more than likely decline his $17.5 million club option for 2018 this offseason.
