Padres' Phil Humber: Decides to retire

Philip Humber is retiring, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.Just one day after being reassigned to minor league camp, the 33-year-old Humber has decided to call it quits. He never lived up to his billing as the No. 3 pick in the 2004 draft, posting a 5.31 ERA in 97 career appearances (51 starts). He did have a decent season for the White Sox in 2011, but it was really the only bright spot in his big-league career. Humber hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013.
