    Taylor Teagarden: Suspended 80 games

It's entirely possible Teagarden has played his last game at the major league level, but he may be able to land a minor league depth role once the suspension is served. Cubs C David Ross placed on 7-day DL; Taylor Teagarden recalled

The Chicago Cubs have placed catcher David Ross on the 7-day disabled list due to a mild concussion. The move is retroactive to Thursday. Ross left Wednesday's game in the seventh inning, though no injury was reported at the time. Still, Ross will take the minimum seven days to recover from the concussion. "I had a three-day headache and some nausea," Ross said Saturday, per ESPN.com. "It's nice for the seven-day DL where you can take a step back. I think the main concern is just getting another foul ball. I had that happen a couple of years ago, and it put me out about two months. I don't want to go through that again." Taylor Teagarden was recalled from Triple-A to be the backup catcher in Ross' absence.
