Ordonez bids tearful goodbye
Magglio Ordonez made his retirement from baseball official, ending a stellar career in which the outfielder hit .309 in 15 seasons with the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox. Ordonez held a news conference at Comerica Park on Sunday, and the Tigers honored him with a ceremony planned before their game against the Yankees. "Im really thankful to be part of this organization for seven years, and I spent a wonderful time in this city with wonderful support from the greatest fans in the world," Ordonez said. "When I re-fractured my ankle a second time I knew it would be difficult to come back."
