Yanks have interest in Rolen
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday he reached out to free agent third baseman Scott Rolen. Cashman said if the circumstances were right, then he thinks Rolen might play in 2013, but he wouldn't say if he would consider signing with the Yankees, according to YES Network. Cashman hinted Rolen wants some guarantee of playing time and money.

Rolen not participating in camp
Third baseman Scott Rolen will not participate in Reds camp this spring, reports Reds President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Walt Jocketty Tuesday. Rolen issued a statement through the team and said, "Right now Im simply not ready to make a commitment. I would like to leave my options open, without closing any doors. I am looking forward to all of the challenges, both personally and professionally, I will face in the future.

Report: Rolen wants to play
Free agent third baseman Scott Rolen, who hit .245 with eight home runs and two steals in 92 games for the Reds last year, has been unable to make a decision on whether or not he will return in 2013. On Thursday, the Cincinnati Enquirer's John Fay reported that Rolen wants to return. "I'm hearing now that Rolen wants to play," Fay wrote.

Dodgers have interest in Rolen
The Los Angeles Times reports that Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has recently spoken with third baseman Scott Rolen, a free agent. ESPN has previously reported that the Dodgers might be interested in making a run at Rolen.

ESPN reports veteran third baseman Scott Rolen hasn't made a final decision about his playing status for 2013, but if he chooses to play, then his first choice is to return to the Reds.

ESPN.com reported on Tuesday that the Dodgers have evaluated third baseman Scott Rolen as a possible target. Rolen has yet to announce whether he plans on playing in 2013 or retiring.
