  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Gets fifth save of season

Chapman got his fifth save of the season Friday, allowing one hit with no strikeouts or walks in a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Yankees' 4-3 victory over the Angels.

The flame-throwing lefty has yet to blow a save in five opportunities so far this year and he's now got a 1.64 ERA and 0.91 WHIP to go along with 19 strikeouts in 11 innings, all numbers that suggest he's poised to remain an elite source of saves for fantasy owners this season.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Picks up no-decision against Royals

Lopez got a no-decision against the Royals on Friday, giving up two earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and no walks over 6.1 innings in a 7-4 victory for the White Sox.

Lopez may have been a bit lucky to not get hit with more earned runs in this one, but his overall body of work on the season also can't be denied as he's now got a 1.78 ERA through 30.1 innings while opponents are hitting just .204 against him. It's certainly been an impressive start, but it should be noted that he has been allowing a lot of baserunners thanks to 15 walks, leading to a 4.52 FIP.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Notches fifth save Friday

Colome gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to collect his fifth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the Red Sox.

The right-hander had had his struggles this season, blowing two saves already in seven chances and producing a 5.73 ERA, but Colome may have turned a corner recently, posting a 6:0 K:BB over his last three innings of work. For now, the Rays seem content to leave him in the closer role and let him work through his issues, hoping he can return to the form he's displayed over the last couple of years.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Second bad outing leaves coaches wondering

Pomeranz (0-2) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rays. The results led pitching coach Dana LeVangie to speculate if the left-hander was tipping his pitches, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. "I don't know if he's tipping or not," said LeVangie. "But I'm going to watch to see if he is... There were some curious swings for me throughout the game that made me think about watching a little more video."

Pomeranz was pummeled by the Rays, who hit three home runs, the most he's allowed in one game this season -- including one from ninth-place hitter Rob Refsnyder, whose last homer came in 2015. Rays hitters weren't overly concerned with Pomeranz's curveball, his signature pitch, and waited on his low-wattage fastball. The state of his curveball was of primary concern to manager Alex Cora. "Teams make adjustments and honestly I do feel there's something else going on right now," manager Alex Cora said. "We'll take a look at it and see if we can make an adjustment with him and if the breaking ball is working, then we'll know where we're at with him." According to BrooksBaseball.net, Pomeranz threw his curve 20 times and did not generate a single swing-and-miss on the pitch. The Red Sox will look to straighten him out in time for his next scheduled start Wednesday at home against the Royals.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rangers' Matt Moore: Scheduled to pitch Wednesday

Moore is next scheduled to start Wednesday, the final game of a series against the Indians, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

When Moore makes his next start, he'll have had eight days of rest between outings. In the meantime, he could be pressed into duty as an extra relief arm. The Rangers are trying to navigate six starters while keeping staff ace Cole Hamels on a regular five-day routine, so others, like Moore, could get an extra day or two between starts.

  • Jose Leclerc RP | SD

Rangers' Jose Leclerc: Shipped back to Round Rock

Leclerc was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

The 24-year-old was outstanding in his second stint in the big leagues, making two scoreless appearances out of the bullpen. He'll head back to the minors to clear a roster spot for Tony Barnette, who was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move. However, Leclerc's performance this season makes him a good candidate to return to the big leagues if another injury strikes the Rangers' bullpen.

  • John Axford RP | MIL

Blue Jays' John Axford: Returns from bereavement list

Axford was activated from the bereavement list Friday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

The 35-year-old has a 2.70 ERA in 10 innings for the Blue Jays so far this year, though his 4.47 xFIP indicates that he's lucky to be allowing so few runs. Tim Mayza was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

  • Tim Mayza RP | PHI

Blue Jays' Tim Mayza: Sent back to Buffalo

Mayza was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Mike Wilner of BlueJaysTalk reports.

In a correspond move, John Axford was reinstated from the bereavement list. Mayza has appeared in two games for the Blue Jays this year, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out a a pair over 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. The 26-year-old figures to split time between Buffalo and Toronto this season, so expect to see him back in the big leagues in the near future.

  • Austin Pruitt RP | TEX

Rays' Austin Pruitt: Optioned to Durham

Pruitt was sent down to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.

Pruitt hasn't pitched since making a long relief appearance against Philadelphia on April 14. The right-hander has provided passable numbers for the Rays over the course of 14.2 innings out of the bullpen, posting a 4.91 ERA and 1.30 WHIP, but the team needed room on the active roster for Matt Duffy, who was activated from the 10-day disabled list (hamstring) in a corresponding move. Expect to see Pruitt back in the majors later on this season.

  • Danny Coulombe RP | BOS

Athletics' Daniel Coulombe: Recalled from Triple-A

Coulombe was called up from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

Coulombe will return to the big-league club after being sent down to Nashville a week ago. The southpaw has posted a 5.79 ERA over 9.1 innings of relief for Oakland this season, but tossed a clean two innings during his lone appearance in Triple-A on Wednesday. Expect him to serve out of low-leverage situations moving forward.
