Velasquez (3-3) allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out four in six innings to take the loss against the Padres on Sunday.

Velasquez struggled against the long ball early in Sunday's start, as he gave up home runs to Manny Machado in the first and third innings. While the right-hander settled down across the last three innings of his outing, he was still charged with his third loss of the season. Velasquez had held the Marlins scoreless in his last start, but he's now allowed at least two earned runs in six of his last seven appearances. During that time, he's posted a 6.21 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 33.1 innings. The 29-year-old will attempt to bounce back in his next outing, and he tentatively lines up to start on the road against Boston on Friday.

Snell allowed two hits and four walks while striking out three in four scoreless innings in Sunday's win over the Phillies. He didn't factor into the decision.

Snell missed his last turn through the rotation due to a non-COVID illness, and he tossed 81 pitches in his return. The southpaw had some issues with command, as he only threw 39 of his pitches for strikes and issued four walks. However, Snell has now tossed nine scoreless innings across his last two starts. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Rockies on Friday.

Stroman allowed five runs (three earned) over five innings against the Yankees in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. He gave up six hits and a walk and did not factor in the decision.

Most of the damage against Stroman came in a three-run second inning that included a two-run double by Kyle Higashioka. The 30-year-old righty failed to record a strikeout and now owns a 78:25 K:BB through 93.2 frames. It was just the second time over his last nine starts that he allowed three or more earned runs. Stroman will carry a 2.60 ERA into next week's projected home start against the Pirates.

Morton allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings versus Miami on Sunday. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander was on track for a quality start before he gave up a three-run home run to Adam Duvall in the sixth inning. Atlanta rallied from behind in the bottom of the ninth to spare Morton from the loss. The 37-year-old owns a 3.91 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 107:31 K:BB across 92 innings this year. His last start before the All-Star break is expected to be a rematch in Miami during next weekend's series.

Gray (shoulder) is starting Sunday's game at Triple-A Oklahoma City, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gray had been sidelined with a shoulder impingement since mid-May, but he'll return to game action for the first time Sunday. The right-hander had been tossing bullpen sessions and a simulated game recently, and he could still be an option to be called up to the majors at some point in 2021. The Dodgers could be in need of a fifth starter in the near future depending on the outcome of the league's investigation into allegations against Trevor Bauer, but it's not yet clear when Gray could be considered ready to join the major-league roster following his lengthy layoff.

Hendricks allowed a run on five hits and struck out five in six innings versus Cincinnati on Sunday. He did not factor in the decision.

After stringing together eight wins in eight starts from May 16 to June 22, Hendricks has taken no-decisions in his last two outings. Sunday's effort was a strong one from the right-hander, but relievers Dan Winkler and Andrew Chafin allowed a narrow one-run lead to slip away in the seventh inning. Hendricks owns a 3.83 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 79:19 K:BB across 98.2 innings this year. The 31-year-old is projected to face St. Louis in next weekend's series.

Miley surrendered two runs on 10 hits and a walk with three strikeouts in 6.2 innings versus the Cubs on Sunday. He did not factor in the decision.

Despite the elevated number of baserunners, Miley was still able to log a quality start for the fifth time in his last seven outings. He benefited from Cincinnati's defense turning two double plays while he was on the mound. The southpaw has a 3.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 72:23 K:BB across 88.1 innings this year. His last start before the All-Star break is expected to be during next weekend's four-game series in Milwaukee.

Martinez was removed from Sunday's start at Colorado with a bruised right thumb, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander suffered the injury during his lone plate appearance and was removed with one out in the fourth inning. Martinez gave up a solo homer and a walk with two strikeouts prior to leaving the contest, and he should be considered day-to-day.

Gray is progressing from his shoulder impingement and is an option to contribute to the big club at some point this season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

A few weeks after Gray went down with the shoulder issue, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts mentioned that the right-hander could have received his first big-league call-up if not for the injury. While he hasn't yet returned to game action, Gray has been working toward a return by tossing multiple bullpen sessions and a simulated game. That likely still puts him weeks away from even being considered an option for the big club, but Roberts suggested Saturday that the team is keeping Gray in mind as a potential contributor once he gets healthy. The Dodgers could be in need of a fifth starter depending on the outcome of the league's investigation into the assault and sexual assault allegations made against Trevor Bauer.

Contreras is being examined in Pittsburgh for forearm soreness, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

The 21-year-old has stepped away from Double-A Altoona to have the injury evaluated, though GM Ben Cherington believes it to be a minor issue. Contreras has been fantastic in nine starts for Altoona this season with a 2.35 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 65:11 K:BB over 46 innings.
