  • Mike Soroka SP | ARI

Braves' Mike Soroka: Named Game 3 starter

Soroka will start the third game of the NLDS on Sunday in St. Louis, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Soroka finished with a 2.68 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP in his excellent rookie campaign. He'll follow Dallas Keuchel and Mike Foltynewicz in the Braves' rotation.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Shines in NL Wild Card Game

Woodruff allowed one run on two hits while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision against the Nationals in Tuesday's NL Wild Card Game. He threw 52 pitches and did not issue a walk.

Trea Turner caught up to some high heat in the third inning, turning around a 97.6-mph fastball for a solo homer, but Woodruff was close to perfect otherwise. His stuff looked good and he had a smart gameplan in attacking hitters. Unfortunately for Woodruff and the Brewers, Juan Soto came up clutch in the eighth against Josh Hader and sent Milwaukee home for the rest of 2019. An oblique injury wiped out most of Woodruff's second half, but he has shown a lot of promise when healthy and will likely be a popular mid-round target in fantasy leagues next year.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Nationals' Patrick Corbin: Primed for Game 1 in LA

Corbin will start Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday against the Dodgers, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.

Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg combined to cover eight innings during Tuesday's Wild Card victory over the Brewers, leaving Corbin to open the series in Los Angeles. The left-hander finished the regular season with a 3.25 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 238:70 K:BB over 202 innings.

  • Rich Hill SP | KC

Dodgers' Rich Hill: Tabbed for Game 4

Manager Dave Roberts said Hill will start Game 4 of the NLDS should it be necessary, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hill won't be cleared for a full workload, as Roberts indicated the lefty would be expected to throw about four innings. The veteran covered three innings during his final outing of the regular season Sunday, so it's no surprise he'd be on a pitch count. Game 4 is scheduled for Monday, so Hill could also make a brief appearance out of the bullpen Thursday or Friday.

  • Miles Mikolas RP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Will start NLDS Game 1

Mikolas will start Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Thursday against the Braves, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander was effective over five starts in September, recording an ERA of 3.34 with a 1.18 WHIP, and will now receive the start for the first game of the NLDS on Thursday. In 32 starts this season, Mikolas carries a 144:32 K:BB with a 9-14 record.

  • Dallas Keuchel SP | MIL

Braves' Dallas Keuchel: Named NLDS Game 1 starter

Keuchel was named the starter for Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Thursday against the Cardinals.

The southpaw will receive the start for the first game of the NLDS against the Cardinals despite being charged with losses in each of his last three starts while recording a 10:7 K:BB with an ERA of 6.19. Since signing with the Braves in June, Keuchel owns a 3.75 ERA and a 1.37 WHIP in 19 starts.

  • Zach Davies SP | WAS

Brewers' Zach Davies: Left off wild-card roster

Davies is not on the Brewers' wild-card roster.

Davies threw five innings Friday and won't be asked to pitch again on just three days' rest. He'll almost certainly play a role in the divisional round should the Brewers win Tuesday's contest.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Starting NL Wild Card Game

Woodruff will start Tuesday's Wild Card Game against Washington, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Woodruff has made just two starts since returning from an oblique injury in mid-September. He lasted just two innings in both of those starts, but he was excellent in both, striking out seven and walking just one while not allowing a single hit or run. It's unlikely he'll be able to go much past two innings Tuesday.

  • Reds' Michael Lorenzen: Notches save in finale

Lorenzen worked around a base hit to turn in a scoreless bottom of the ninth and claim his seventh save of the season Sunday in the Reds' 3-1 win over the Pirates.

Though the 27-year-old had been seeing increased work in the outfield in September, he was still effective when called upon in relief. After another strong showing in the season finale, Lorenzen wrapped up the campaign with a 2.92 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 85:28 K:BB in 83.1 innings. Should the Reds elect to move on from closer Raisel Iglesias during the offseason, Lorenzen would likely represent the top internal candidate to fill the vacancy.

  • Jack Flaherty SP | DET

Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Cruises to victory

Flaherty (11-8) earned the win against the Cubs on Sunday, hurling seven scoreless innings and giving up two hits and one walk while striking out six.

Flaherty's gem was a fitting conclusion to a regular season in which the 23-year-old established himself as one of the most promising young pitchers in baseball. The right-hander needed only 69 pitches, 48 of which were strikes, to navigate seven easy innings and pick up the win to lead the Cardinals to the NL Central title. Flaherty finishes 2019 with an 11-8 record while ranking fourth in the National League in ERA (2.75), first in WHIP (0.97), first in BAA (.192) and sixth in strikeouts (231). He was downright dominant during the second half of the season, posting a minuscule 0.91 ERA and 0.71 WHIP over 15 starts. Flaherty will look to continue his stretch of success in the NLDS.
