• Kings' DeMar DeRozan: Bounces back Monday

  DeRozan supplied 30 points (13-21 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 130-109 loss to the Thunder. DeRozan had scored 16 and 18 points in the losses to the Clippers and Nets, and even though the Kings pushed their losing run to four contests with this loss Monday, at least the veteran forward bounced back from a fantasy perspective. DeRozan enjoyed an excellent start to the season, but his numbers have been trending in the wrong direction of late. He's averaging just 17.4 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the floor over his last five outings.

The Kings didn't limit DeRozan's playing time in his return from a three-game absence due to the lower back injury, but the typically efficient forward struggled to find a rhythm both from the field and the free-throw line. In spite of the off night, DeRozan is still converting on 50.7 percent of his field goals and 82.3 percent of his free throws for the season, so fantasy managers shouldn't panic too much about the lack of efficiency in his first game back. He'll get Saturday off to recover before the Kings begin a back-to-back set Sunday versus the Nets.

DeRozan participated in Thursday's practice and has officially been given the green light to play Friday evening after missing three games with a back injury.   DeRozan (back), who has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hawks, has been cleared for individual on-court workouts, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. While DeRozan will be sidelined for a third straight game Monday, the Kings are labeling him as day-to-day, and a return to action in Sacramento's next contest Friday versus the Clippers could be a possibility if all goes well over the next few days. Given that he's been sidelined for about a week with lower-back tightness, DeRozan shouldn't require a lengthy ramp-up period and likely won't have many restrictions with his minutes once he's cleared to play again.
