  Peterson (rest) is set to compete for a starting role during training camp in the fall. The rookie No. 2 overall pick has Ace Bailey to overcome for the top spot at shooting guard with the Jazz. Whether he starts or comes off the bench right off the bat, Peterson is certainly primed for a significant role for Utah in 2026-27. Over five Summer League appearances, the 19-year-old stood out with averages of 23.0 points, 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.

  Peterson ended with 15 points (4-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block over 29 minutes in Wednesday's 94-82 Summer League loss to the Spurs. After resting Monday, Peterson returned to action Wednesday but struggled to find his shot, finishing with his lowest scoring output of the summer. In his previous four appearances between the Salt Lake City and Las Vegas portions of the Summer League, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft had scored at least 20 points in each contest. Peterson figures to play a significant role from the outset of the 2026-27 regular season.

  Peterson (rest) is available to play in Wednesday's Summer League game against the Spurs, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. After getting a maintenance day Monday, Peterson will be back in action. The rookie is averaging 22.3 points and 5.5 assists through four exhibitions.

  Peterson (rest) has been ruled out for Monday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Bulls, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Peterson will skip the second leg of a back-to-back set, but he should be back in action for Wednesday's game against the Spurs. With Peterson on the sidelines, Bez Mbeng could get some time to shine in a starting role.
