Wizards head coach Brian Keefe said that George (ankle) practiced Tuesday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. George has missed the past five games with a left ankle sprain, but his return to practice gives him a chance to play Thursday against the Hornets. The rookie first-round pick has been a consistent part of the Washington rotation this season, but he had seen his minutes take a hit upon moving to the bench Nov. 27 following a two-game run in the starting five.

George (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's matchup against Cleveland. George is slated to miss his fourth consecutive outing Friday due to a sprained left ankle. The rookie has seen significant playing time this season, and in his absence, Anthony Gill and Marvin Bagley are candidates for an uptick in playing time. George's next chance to play will come Sunday against Boston.

George (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Dallas. George suffered a left ankle sprain in the first half of Tuesday's loss to Cleveland and will miss his first game of the season Thursday. While being ruled out more than 24 hours in advance of Thursday's contest is not a great sign, the rookie forward could be ready to return to action Saturday against Denver.

George went back to the locker room with an apparent left ankle injury during the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports. The rookie went down after contesting a shot attempt from Donovan Mitchell, and George limped to the bench before heading to the locker room. If the 20-year-old forward is unable to return, Carlton Carrington and Anthony Gill are candidates for a slight uptick in playing time.

George posted two points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 121-96 loss to the Clippers. Although he was moved to the bench in Jordan Poole's (hip) return to action, George was still able to play 26 minutes in Wednesday's blowout loss to the Clippers. While his performance was muted, George could find himself garnering more playing time with an uptick in fantasy value once again after Kyle Kuzma exited Wednesday's game due to a rib injury. George would be a candidate to rejoin Washington's starting lineup if Kuzma is unable to play in Saturday's matchup with the Bucks. In his six appearances as a starter this season, the rookie first-rounder is averaging 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.7 minutes per game.
