Bassey registered three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 15 minutes during Monday's 114-106 loss to Detroit. Bassey was brought in on a 10-day deal with Memphis already dealing with a rash of injuries, and he was able to immediately establish himself as an impactful player in the rotation. He helped the Grizzlies win the rebounding battle 49-43, and he provided numerous second-chance opportunities, with five of his 10 rebounds coming on the offensive end. He's on the radar in deep leagues.

The Grizzlies intend to sign Bassey to a 10-day hardship contract, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. The 25-year-old center will join the Grizzlies to provide short-term frontcourt depth due to Zach Edey (ankle) and Brandon Clarke (knee) being sidelined. Bassey appeared in a career-high 36 regular-season games (one start) with the Spurs last season, during which he averaged 4.4 points and 4.2 rebounds across 10.4 minutes per contest.

The Hawks waived Bassey on Saturday, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports. Despite a strong showing at training camp, Bassey was unable to make Atlanta's final roster. He'll likely draw some interest from around the NBA following this transaction.

The Hawks signed Bassey on Wednesday, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Bassey is now in line to serve as frontcourt depth behind Onyeka Okongwu and Mouhamed Gueye for the Hawks in 2025-26. That said, Bassey is not a guarantee to open the new season with a stable role off the bench. Last year for the Spurs, the 2021 second-rounder averaged 4.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 10.4 minutes per game across 36 regular-season appearances.

Bassey finished with 22 points (8-12 FG, 6-6 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks across 22 minutes during Sunday's 94-81 Summer League win against the Knicks. Bassey put on a show Sunday in the Las Vegas Summer League, as he was getting it done on both ends of the floor. The Western Kentucky product has no shortage of experience, having played for the 76ers and Spurs over the last four years, but he's now in limbo as he tries to prove his worth and secure another deal to remain in the league for the 2025-26 campaign.
