    Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion (hip) does want to rush return

    Cleveland Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion said Thursday his injured hip is feeling better, but he does not want to rush his return, reports Bleacher Report. Marion has been out since Feb. 12 while recovering from a left hip strain. He will not play in Thursday's game at San Antonio, but he did not rule out playing in Sunday's contest at Orlando. "We're rolling," he said.

    Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion (hip) returns to practice Monday

    Cleveland Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion was able to practice Monday, reports ESPN.com. Marion last played Feb. 12 because of a left hip strain and it appears he is progressing from the injury. "Shawn is out on the court, which is a good sign," coach David Blatt said. "He's still not ready. He's definitely coming along in the process well." The Cavaliers open a four-game road trip Tuesday at Dallas and Blatt said if Marion responds well to Wednesday's practice, he could be available to play in Sunday's game at Orlando or next Monday's contest at Miami. However, Marion has no guarantee he'll receive playing time once he is healthy, Blatt said. "His role is to be determined," Blatt said. "That's the best way to put it. The rotation has been good and the team has been playing well. We're anxious to get him back."

    Cavs PF Shawn Marion close to resuming basketball activities

    After being sidelined since late February, Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Shawn Marion is close to being able to resume basketball activities, accoridng to the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.   The 36-year-old Marion suffered a left hip strain on February 24th.  He has said that he plans on this season being his last in the NBA.

    Cleveland Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion underwent tests on his injured hip which revealed a strain. He will be sidelined for approximately two weeks, per Ethan J. Skolnick of Bleacher Report on Tuesday. The 36-year-old Marion, who plans on retiring at season's end, began dealing with the issue in January and flew back to Cleveland following his team's win against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. He has minor contributor off the bench for the Cavs, averaging a career-low 4.9 points in 20.0 minutes per game this season.

    Cavs' Shawn Marion dealing with hip injury

    Cleveland Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion revealed he's been battling a hip injury over the last two months, reports the Akron Beacon-Journal. "My hip is bothering me right now. I've been trying to fight through it as much as I can, but it's causing me a lot of discomfort," he said. "I just want to get back to 100 percent healthy." The hip issue began to affect Marion in early January and the pain has continued to linger. Marion has played a total of 13 minutes over the last four games. "At this point in my career, it's just age," he said. "It's definitely a very uncomfortable feeling. It ain't feeling any better." Marion will miss Tuesday's game at Detroit to have an MRI conducted on his hip.

He hasn't received much time lately, and it appears he's buried at the back of the team's rotation. Marion is averaging 5.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

    Cavaliers' Shawn Marion says he will retire after the season

    Wanting to depart on his own terms, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Shawn Marion said he plans to retire after the season, reports The Arizona Republic. Marion is in his 15th NBA season and said watching his son grow up while he deals with the rigors of the NBA has been difficult. "The biggest thing is having a son. I got attached to him. Seeing him periodically is hard," Marion said. "Watching him grow up on pictures and videos is hard." Marion, 36, was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1999 and said his biggest regret was not winning a championship in Phoenix. "It's been a great ride," Marion said. "I really wish I could've brought a championship to Phoenix. But it was awesome." Marion is averaging only 5.6 points and 4.0 rebounds in 38 games for the Cavaliers, but said his career was made while playing nine seasons in Phoenix and he hopes to join their Ring of Honor. "It'd be hard not to have me up there when you look at what I did," Marion said.
