Toney Douglas: Signs with Turkish club

Toney Douglas agreed to a contract Monday with Sakarya Buyuksehir Belediyesi S.K. of the Turkish Basketball Super League, EuroHoops.net reports.Douglas, who last appeared in the NBA during the 2016-17 season with the Grizzlies, spent the past campaign in Turkey with Anadolu Efes. He'll remain overseas to begin the upcoming season with a different Turkish club and will look to parlay his performance abroad into another look at the NBA level.

Toney Douglas: Gets released by Memphis

Toney Douglas was released by the Grizzlies on Saturday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports. The Grizzlies signed rookie Wayne Selden to a contract Saturday, so they'll cut Douglas loose to clear a roster spot. Douglas had been a regular contributor in February and early March, but only played a combined 10 minutes over the Grizzlies' last four games, as youngsters Troy Daniels and Andrew Harrison cut into his workload. The veteran will now become a free agent and try to latch on with a team looking for additional offensive firepower in the backcourt.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Gets season-high 29 minutes Saturday

Toney Douglas totaled 12 points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists and three steals across 29 minutes during a 123-108 loss to the Rockets on Saturday.Saturday's game was one of Douglas' better outings of the season, as the minutes, steals and field goal attempts were all season highs. The five assists also tied a season high. Douglas is receiving the bulk of the backup point guard minutes right now, so performances such as this one are possible every once in awhile.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Signs through the rest of the season

Dougals signed with the Memphis Grizzlies for the rest of the season on Thursday, Michael Wallce of Grizzlies.com reports.Toney Douglas has been a solid rotation member as Mike Conley's backup point guard for the duration of his two 10-day contracts. Over 14 games, he's averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 17.2 minutes. While that keeps him off the radar in the majority of fantasy formats, Douglas has still performed well enough to earn a contract for the rest of the season, so he'll continue to get the bulk of the bench minutes at point guard for the time being.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Signs second 10-day contract with Grizzlies

Toney Douglas will sign a second 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.Douglas has been with the Grizzlies for a couple different stints this season, joining the team in December after the team was granted the NBA's hardship rule when Mike Conley was out and most recently logging a 10-day contract up until this point. The Grizzlies like what they've seen from Douglas, as he's averaged 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists across 16.5 minutes in 11 games. He'll continue to act as a reserve in the backcourt, but likely won't see enough minutes to be fantasy relevant in the majority of leagues. Following the completion of this upcoming 10-day contract, the Grizzlies will have to waive Douglas or sign him for the rest of the season.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Finalizing 10-day contract with Grizzlies

Toney Douglas will sign with the Memphis Grizzlies on a 10-day contract, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.Douglas was waived by Memphis back in December due to a back injury, but will now be added back pending the release of rookie forward Troy Williams. It remains to be seen how large of an impact Douglas will make for Memphis, especially given the indefinite nature of 10-day contracts. Additionally, Wade Baldwin was recently recalled from the D-League and Andrew Harrison has established a fairly consistent role for the Grizzlies, muddying Douglas' role in the team's backcourt.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Waived by Grizzlies

Toney Douglas was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports. The Grizzlies brought Douglas aboard in early-December following the announcement that Mike Conley would miss several weeks with a back injury. The veteran has given them decent minutes through six games -- 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists per game -- but the two sides will now part ways, freeing up a spot on the roster, which will likely be assumed by one of Memphis' injured players. It's unclear who, exactly, that might be, though Thursday's move could be an indication that Conley is ahead of schedule, or that either Chandler Parsons (knee) or James Ennis (calf) could be nearing a return.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Fills up stat sheet during Wednesday's win

Toney Douglas delivered 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 28 minutes during the Memphis Grizzlies' 93-85 win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday.Douglas finished with season highs in points, rebounds, assists, threes, and minutes, and he has now swiped two steals in three straight bouts. Six games into his tenure with the Grizzlies, Douglas is averaging 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steal, 0.7 threes, and 0.2 blocks in 17.8 minutes per contest. It's unclear how long Douglas will remain on the roster since his addition was injury-related in the first place. However, he has run the show at point guard much more smoothly than youngsters Andrew Harrison and Wade Baldwin, so it's possible Douglas will end up earning the most minutes at that position going forward until Mike Conley (back) is healthy.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Plays six minutes Tuesday

Toney Douglas played six minutes and put up two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) to go with two rebounds and one assist across six minutes in Tuesday's 96-91 win over the 76ers.Though he only signed with the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, Douglas has immediately entered the rotation in both of the team's two games this week, but has seen only 14 total minutes. He's third on the depth chart at point guard behind starter Andrew Harrison and backup Wade Baldwin, but with neither rookie providing much of an impact while Mike Conley (back) has been sidelined, there could be a chance for Douglas to cut into their workloads before long.

Grizzlies' Toney Douglas: Will see the court Monday

Toney Douglas will be available to play in Monday's game against the Pelicans, Rob Fischer of FOX Sports Southeast reports.Douglas was signed earlier Monday, but the Memphis Grizzlies are wasting no time bringing him along and expect to get him on the court for some in-game action on the same day. Of course, considering he likely doesn't have a full grasp of the Grizzlies' playbook, that could keep his minutes limited during his debut. That said, with injuries wiping out the Grizzlies' backcourt depth chart, Douglas has the potential to see decent minutes behind the likes of Andrew Harrison, Wade Baldwin and Tony Allen.
