    Larry Sanders: Waived by Cleveland

Larry Sanders will be waived by the Cavaliers on Wednesday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.Sanders' return to professional basketball following a two-year hiatus didn't go as planned. He ended up taking part in just five games with the Cavaliers after being signed late in the season, averaging only 2.6 minutes per contest. Sanders wasn't much more impressive in his D-League appearances, so the Cavs will cut bait and address their lack of depth at center by instead signing the 7-foot-3 Walter Tavares. Sanders should get a look from teams ahead of training camp next season, although he likely won't be guaranteed a roster spot wherever he lands.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Recalled from D-League

Larry Sanders has been recalled from the D-League, Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports. The Cavs have been bringing Sanders up to speed gradually, but he may be thrust into an increased role Wednesday as the team will be without Tristan Thompson, who suffered a thumb injury Tuesday against Orlando. With Andrew Bogut (leg) and Chris Andersen (knee) done for the season, Sanders is currently the Cavs' only healthy true center, though stretch-five Channing Frye also figures to see a bump in minutes Wednesday.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Assigned to D-League

Larry Sanders was assigned to the D-League's Canton Charge on Tuesday. After failing to see any run in the Cavs' double-overtime victory over the Pacers on Sunday, Sanders will head back to the Charge, who will play their first game in the D-League postseason Wednesday against Raptors 905. In his four appearances for the Charge this season, Sanders is averaging 6.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 19.4 minutes per game.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Recalled from D-League

Larry Sanders was recalled Sunday from the D-League's Canton Charge, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio reports.Sanders continues to move back and forth between the two rosters, but gets the majority of his playing time in the D-League. With the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sanders has played just two games and logged a total of four minutes, so despite being recalled, he'll likely remain outside the regular rotation.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Assigned to D-League

Larry Sanders was assigned Sunday to the D-League's Canton Charge, Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reports. As expected, Sanders will continue to move back and forth between the two rosters, with the D-League offering the opportunity to get him back into game shape. Sanders could be recalled in time for Monday's game against the Spurs, although he's largely remained out of the regular rotation and may not see the floor in a competitive contest.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Recalled from D-League

Larry Sanders was recalled Thursday from the D-League's Canton Charge, Jason Lloyd of The Athletic reports.Sanders saw his first action with the Charge on Saturday, posting two points (0-2 FG, 2-4 FT), three blocks and one rebound over 12 minutes. He also picked up five fouls, so it wasn't exactly a great outing. The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to try and get Sanders minutes in order for him to regain conditioning after a two-year hiatus from the NBA, so it wouldn't be surprising if he headed back to the Charge before long. That said, after being recalled Thursday, Sanders should be available off the bench for Friday's game against the Hornets, although he's unlikely to enter the rotation in a competitive game.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Assigned to D-League

Larry Sanders was assigned to the D-League's Canton Charge on Friday, Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio reports.Following a two-game stint with the Charge earlier this week, Sanders rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers ahead of Thursday's win over the Jazz, but didn't see the court in the contest. With the organization eager to have Sanders pick up some extended minutes following a two-year layoff from professional basketball, he may be in store for several more D-League appearances before he coach Tyronn Lue trusts him as a regular member of the Cavs rotation.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Recalled from D-League

Larry Sanders was recalled Thursday from the D-League's Canton Charge.Sanders was sent down to the D-League earlier this week and averaged 10.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals across 27.0 minutes in two games. While he was fully expected to remain in the D-League for two weeks, it appears the Cleveland Cavaliers will instead move him back and forth between the two teams based on how the schedules line up. He'll likely be available for Thursday's game against the Jazz after being recalled, but it wouldn't be surprising if he was assigned back to Canton shortly thereafter.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Assigned to D-League

Larry Sanders was assigned to the D-League's Canton Charge on Wednesday. After signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the rest of the season Monday, Sanders was active for Tuesday's 128-96 win over the Pistons. He ended up seeing two minutes of garbage time and missed his only shot and picked up two fouls in what was his first NBA action since Feb. 20, 2015. Due to the 28-year-old's extensive time away from professional basketball, the Cavaliers are expected to stash him in the D-League for about two weeks in order to give him more meaningful playing time and an opportunity to regain some conditioning. Once he's recalled by the Cavaliers, it's expected that Sanders will challenge for a rotation role and potentially settle in as the top backup to starting center Tristan Thompson.

Cavaliers' Larry Sanders: Headed to D-League for two weeks

Larry Sanders is expected to spend the next two weeks with the D-League's Canton Charge, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.Sanders officially signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, but since hasn't played in an NBA game since the 2014-15 season, he's going to need some time to get his conditioning in order and ease back into game shape. For that reason, Sanders is set to join the Charge as soon as Saturday in order to shake off the rust, before rejoining the Cavaliers in late March or early April. That would leave Sanders with roughly two or three weeks left in the regular season in order for him to establish himself a rotation option for the Cavaliers before the postseason begins. The Cavaliers likely wouldn't ask Sanders to take on more than 10-to-20 minutes per game behind starting center Tristan Thompson, but he'd at least potentially provide the team with an athletic shot blocker at the back end of the defense.
