Jerome Jordan was waived by the Pelicans on Friday, John Reid of NOLA.com reports.Jordan was signed to add some frontcourt depth with Alex Ajinca and Omer Asik both dealing with injuries as the start of the season looms. However, it looks as if the team is optimistic about both players' health with the waiving of Jordan and the center will be looking for work once again.

Brooklyn Nets center Jerome Jordan scored 10 points on 3 of 7 shooting in his team's 105-80 loss to the Bulls Wednesday. Jordan hadn't played much this season before seeing a total of 55 minutes over the last two games, scoring in double digits in each. He racked up a season-high six rebounds Wednesday while also kicking in one block and one steal in a season-high 29 minutes. He should continue to see extended playing time as long as Brook Lopez remains out.
