    Hornets coach Steve Clifford praises Jeff Taylor's play

    After starting Jeff Taylor in Saturday's win over the Atlanta Hawks, coach Steve Clifford said he was pleased with how Taylor played, reports The Charlotte Observer. "He did a good job," Clifford said. "He was locked in from the beginning of the game. Last [season], when Michael Kidd-Gilchrist got hurt, he had some really good games. I think his concentration was up and he played really well." In 27 minutes of play Saturday, Taylor scored nine points along with two rebounds and two assists and Clifford indicated Taylor could remain a starter in place of Lance Stephenson. "I think Lance has played better with the second unit than the starters," Clifford said.

    Hornets provide updates on injuries to Kidd-Gilchrist, Biyombo

    The Charlotte Hornets announced an MRI taken on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's right hamstring revealed a hamstring strain and he has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Pacers and Tuesday's game against the Pistons. He will be reevaluated after the All-Star break. Guard Jeff Taylor will start in Sunday's game in place of Kidd-Gilchrist. Meanwhile, an MRI confirmed center Bismack Biyombo is still dealing with a knee bruise. He last played Jan. 24 and is expected to miss at least the next two weeks. Center Cody Zeller should see his role increase while Biyombo is sidelined. The Hornets are 2-point underdogs to the Pacers.

    Hornets Noah Vonleh, Jeff Taylor will not play on Wednesday

    Charlotte Hornets forwards Noah Vonleh and Jeff Taylor are inactive for Wednesday's game, according to the Charlotte Observer. Vonleh has only played in three games this season. Once P.J. Hairston returned, Vonleh has not played in a game. Taylor is eligible to return from his suspension, but will not do so. He hasn't played since rupturing his Achilles last December.

    Hornets' Jeff Taylor's suspension ends, still not expected to be activated

    Charlotte Hornets forward Jeff Taylor is not expected to be on the active roster for Charlotte now that his 24-game suspension has ended, coach Steve Clifford said Tuesday.  Taylor was suspended 24 games by the league after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor domestic-violence charge in Michigan.  Taylor is also recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon he suffered last December when he was with Charlotte. He averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 2013.

    Hornets' Jeff Taylor not appealing suspension

    Charlotte Hornets forward Jeff Taylor told the media Monday that he will not be appealing his 24-game suspension. Reporters said that he accepted full responsibility for his actions and accepts the punishment. "My actions were wrong and I don't care to appeal a decision that was based off my actions being wrong," Taylor said, per the Associated Press. "So I respect the league's decision on the suspension and I will take all of the necessary steps to make sure nothing like that ever happens again."  Taylor was suspended by NBA commissioner Adam Silver for pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge. Taylor is eligible to return Dec. 17 against the Suns.
