Alex Abrines: Headed overseas
Alex Abrines signed a contract Tuesday with FC Barcelona, Varlas Nikos of Eurohoops.net reports.Abrines was waived by the Thunder in February after sitting out for a month and a half due to a personal matter. After taking some time off from professional basketball, Abrines will return back to his home country of Spain to play for Barcelona during the 2019-20 campaign.

Alex Abrines: Likely to sit out rest of 2018-19
Alex Abrines revealed over the weekend that he expects to remain a free agent for the remainder of the season rather than signing with another NBA or European team, Antonis Stroggylakis of the Eurohoops.net reports.Abrines was waived by the Thunder on Feb. 8 after an unspecified personal matter had kept him away from the team for much of the month and a half prior to his dismissal. The Spaniard said he expects to make a statement regarding his situation in the near future, but it doesn't look like he'll pursue employment elsewhere until this summer. The 25-year-old 5.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 triples in 16.0 minutes per game over 174 outings (16 starts) with Oklahoma City during the past there seasons.

Alex Abrines has been waived by the Thunder, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.Abrines had appeared in just two of the past 22 games for the Thunder, who cut ties with the third-year guard Saturday. Once Abrines clears waivers, he'll be free to sign with any team and may be pursued due to his floor-stretching ability. In 31 appearances this year, Abrines averaged 5.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 threes in 19.0 minutes while shooting an abysmal 35.7 percent from the floor in addition to splits of 32.2 percent from three and 92.3 percent from the line.
