Lakers guards Clarkson, Russell to work out with Steve Nash

The Los Angeles Lakers have a duo of young guards ready to take hold of their backcourt, and they both will seek the tutelage of a two-time league MVP, per the Orange County Register. Second-year guard Jordan Clarkson and rookie D'Angelo Russell are expected to participate in workouts with former MVP Steve Nash. Clarkson worked out with Nash throughout last season and into the offseason, and is hoping to bring along the second-overall pick in this year's draft, Russell, when he continues to learn under Nash. Nash retired after last season, and spent three injury-riddled seasons with the Lakers.

Lakers sign first-round picks D'Angelo Russell, Larry Nance Jr.

The Los Angeles Lakers signed first-round picks D'Angelo Russell and Larry Nance Jr. on Friday, the team announced. Russell was the second-overall pick out of Ohio State. Nance Jr. was the 27th pick in the draft out of Wyoming.

D'Angelo Russell can play with Jordan Clarkson for Lakers

Second overall draft pick D'Angelo Russell is confident that he can blend with Jordan Clarkson in the Los Angeles Lakers' backcourt. Russell said he "can definitely play with" Clarkson, the team announced on its Twitter account. Russell said that having two ballhandlers "gives us the advantage".
