    The Portland Trail Blazers announced Thursday they have waived center Brendan Haywood, whom they just acquired earlier in the week in a trade with the Cavaliers, per NBA.com.  Haywood averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 22 games for the Cavaliers last season.

    The Portland Trail Blazers acquired center Brendan Haywood and forward Mike Miller from the Cavaliers on Sunday, sourced told Yahoo Sports. The Blazers will receive two second-round picks from Cleveland. The Cavaliers will gain a $13.35 million trade exception in the deal. Haywood averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 22 games for the Cavaliers last season. Miller averaged 2.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per contest in 52 games.

    Cavaliers C Brendan Haywood has no plans to retire

    Cleveland Cavaliers veteran center Brendan Haywood has vowed to remain active amid speculation that the team is working feverishly to trade him and his $10.5 million non-guaranteed contract. Haywood told CineSport that if was planning to retire, he wouldn't be working so hard. He said that he would happy to work out with any interested team and that, despite the recent emphasis on small-ball, teams still need rim protectors. Haywood added that money is no longer an issue in his career.

    Report: Spurs talk trade with Cavaliers for C Brendan Haywood

    The San Antonio Spurs have been discussing a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers that would land them forward Brendan Haywood, a league source had told the San Antonio Express-News. That would free up cap space for Cleveland and allow the Spurs to shed his $10.5 million contract. The 35-year-old Haywood has become more valuable for his contract than what he brings on the court. He played in just 22 games for the Cavaliers last season, mostly in garbage time.

    The Cleveland Cavaliers are shopping the contract of center Brendan Haywood and their first-round draft pick in next week's draft in order to upgrade their roster, sources told ESPN.com. Haywood has a $10.5 million contract that is not guaranteed for next season, which can be valuable to a team looking to make a dent in their payroll. The Cavaliers are interested in either gaining a player or a future draft pick in these negotiations, sources said.

    Cleveland Cavaliers center Brendan Haywood has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Thunder, reports The Plain Dealer. Haywood said his knee is swollen after banging knees in Friday’s win over the Hornets. In 16 games, he is averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds. The Cavaliers are 3 1/2-point underdogs.

    Cavaliers C Brendan Haywood sees first action of the season

Haywood only played the two minutes in the second quarter committing a shooting foul on Damian Lillard. He was pulled for Mike Miller with 15 seconds remaining in the first half. He was held scoreless with no field goal attempts in a 101-82 defeat.

    Cleveland Cavaliers center Brendan Haywood was unable to go Thursday against the Knicks. Haywood came into the game considered probable due to a foot injury. He did not see any time during the contest. It's unclear whether Haywood will be available Friday against the Bulls.

    Brendan Haywood says he's fully cleared for training camp

    Cleveland Cavaliers center Brendan Haywood told Comcast SportsNet Northwest that he's been fully cleared by the team's medical staff. Haywood missed last season because of a broken foot. He should be ready for the start of training camp and the season. "They (the Cavaliers) may be cautious with me but I'm good to go now," Haywood said.
