Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Out at least three months

Gregory Jackson underwent a successful procedure to repair a broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot Wednesday and will be evaluated in approximately three months.Jackson will miss at least the first month of the season while rehabbing from the procedure but is expected to make a full recovery. However, when healthy, his role remains unclear. As a rookie, the second-round pick carved out a substantial role for the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies. Over his final 18 regular-season appearances, Jackson averaged 20.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. With Ja Morant (shoulder), Marcus Smart (finger) and Desmond Bane (back) returning to full strength this offseason, Jackson will have a difficult time repeating those numbers in Year 2.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Suffers broken foot

Gregory Jackson broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot earlier this week and will undergo surgery Sept. 4.The Memphis Grizzlies had a rough time with injuries in the 2023-24 season, and the team is not catching a break even in the offseason. Jackson suffered the injury while playing basketball outside Dallas on Aug. 27 when he had an unstable landing on his right foot. A timetable for recovery has not been provided, but it wouldn't be surprising if Jackson is not fully recovered for the start of the regular season in late October.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Has another big night

Gregory Jackson recorded 28 points (11-16 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-8 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Monday's 120-118 Summer League loss to the Heat.Jackson was named to the NBA 2K25 All-Summer League First Team earlier in the day, and it's not difficult to see why. He narrowly missed a double-double and shot with efficiency, converting on 68.8 percent of his tries from the field. This was a great finish to Summer League for the 19-year-old forward.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Hands out six dimes in win

Gregory Jackson dished out six assists over 32 minutes of play Thursday, adding 17 points (4-14 FG, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, two triples and one steal in an 88-77 win over the Pelicans in Las Vegas.Jackson's season high in dimes last season was four, but he had some impressive assists during Thursday's contest, so it appears that's a part of his game that he's been working on. Scotty Pippen Jr. also showed some impressive playmaking skills during Thursday's win, handing out 11 assists to go with 17 points (6-11 FG, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, one triple, three steals and just one turnover across 29 minutes. Both players have been great in Las Vegas, but if the Memphis Grizzlies are healthy next season, it'll be tough for either to earn enough minutes to make an impact in most 12-team fantasy leagues.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Nets 18 points with full line

Gregory Jackson hit 7-of-14 shots (3-7 3Pt) and made 1-of-2 free throws for 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three triples and three steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's Summer League loss to the Thunder. While most of Jackson's stat line was great, his six turnovers were less than stellar. Jackson posted some solid stat lines last season while logging big minutes for a team that was missing most of its key guys, but it'll be tough for him to replicate that success in Year 2 if Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke are healthy.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Pours in 31 points Friday

Gregory Jackson chipped in 31 points (12-23 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 0-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and three steals across 40 minutes during Friday's 123-120 loss to the Lakers.Jackson led Memphis in scoring while putting up an efficient 7-for-13 line from beyond the arc. The seven triples tied his career-high mark, which he initially established March 20 against the Warriors. As has typically been the case for Jackson, his scoring came with little production as a rebounder or distributor, though he did tie his career-best total with three thefts in Friday's defeat.

Gregory Jackson ended with 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 108-90 win over Detroit.Jackson has been on a very productive stretch in recent weeks, and he's taking advantage of the Memphis Grizzlies' rebuild approach to see extended minutes in the final weeks of the season. Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Career-high 35 points in loss

Gregory Jackson supplied 35 points (11-19 FG, 7-14 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 137-116 loss to Golden State. The 2023 second-round pick continues to take advantage of all the Memphis Grizzlies' injuries and absences, setting a new career scoring high Wednesday as he produced 30-plus points for the second time in the last six games. Jackson is averaging 25.0 points, 5.5 boards, 4.0 threes, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals in 37.5 minutes a contest over his first six NBA starts, and the 19-year-old forward should remain in a prominent role in the rotation even if players like Vince Williams (knee) start trickling back into the lineup.

Grizzlies' GG Jackson: Efficient performance in OT loss

Gregory Jackson logged 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and three steals across 44 minutes in Monday's 121-111 overtime loss to the Kings.Making his third straight start while Vince Williams (knee) was sidelined once again, Jackson delivered an efficient scoring performance, highlighted by a 4-for-8 showing from downtown. He also paired the offensive production with some rare numbers on the defensive end; his three steals exceeded his output (two) from his previous 13 games combined. While Jackson doesn't possess a well-rounded fantasy profile, he's getting every opportunity to put up shots while the injury-riddled Memphis Grizzlies remain without Williams and several other key contributors. Jackson has scored at least 19 points in each of his last five games, averaging 23.2 overall during that stretch. He's shot 48.1 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line in that time while also averaging 3.2 three-pointers and 4.6 rebounds.
