Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Says he'll be back next season

When asked about his future Wednesday, Tayshaun Prince said he's "not going to retire," Kyle Ratke of Minnesota Timberwolves.com reports. After spending time between three teams - Boston, Detroit and Memphis - last season, Prince's career appeared to be winding down, but he signed with the Timberwolves in August and has appeared in 77 contests, making 44 starts and averaging 19.0 minutes per game. The 36-year-old only signed a one-year deal, so it's unclear if the Timberwolves will be interested in bringing him back. Regardless, it looks as though Prince is prepared to test the free agency waters this summer.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: No points in third straight game

Tayshaun Prince was held scoreless (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and grabbed a rebound in seven minutes during Tuesday's 124-117 overtime victory against the Warriors.Prince has delivered a goose egg in the scoring column in three straight games and has seen his minutes count decrease in four consecutive contests. Shabazz Muhammad's outstanding scoring night (35 points) likely had a little to do with Prince's lack of usage Tuesday, but with the team intent on giving more playing time to younger players down the stretch, Prince probably won't see his minutes climb much from here.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Plays 22 minutes in Wednesday's win

Tayshaun Prince provided six points (2-4 FG, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, and one steal across 22 minutes during the Minnesota Timberwolves' 114-108 victory versus the Grizzlies on Wednesday. After playing no less than 20 minutes per game in any individual month prior to February, Prince's minutes continue to plummet. He played 17 minutes per night in February, and is down to just 13 minutes per appearance in March. Prince also hadn't scored six points or more since Feb. 3, and he is not worth much consideration in fantasy.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Doesn't play Sunday

Tayshaun Prince did not play in Sunday's loss to Dallas due to a coach's decision. With Minnesota moving to giving younger players more minutes, we'd expect a decreased role for Prince the rest of the season. He's still getting spot starts, but takes few shots as a defensive specialist no matter how much he plays.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Will start in Wednesday's game

Tayshaun Prince will start in Wednesday's game against the Raptors, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports.Prince has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, and he'll be back in for Wednesday's game. Look for Andrew Wiggins to move to the shooting guard position and for Zach LaVine to come off the bench. It's unclear at this time if Prince will remain in the starting lineup for any games going forward.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Probable to return Monday

Tayshaun Prince is probable to return Monday versus the Celtics after receiving six stitches due to a chin laceration. It sounds like Prince avoided anything serious here, and should return without any setbacks after injuring his chin. This will likely have no effect on his status moving forward. Prince had recorded one assist in five minutes before being forced out of the game for stitches.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Returns to starting lineup

Tayshaun Prince started at small forward, but did not score and had three rebounds in 21 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Knicks.Prince didn't play Friday due to a coach's decision and it looked like he may be completely phased out of the team's rotation in favor of younger players. However, it looks like he'll still get some starts. We'd expect his playing time to decline and he contributes almost nothing on offense as he's in the game primarily for his defense.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Doesn't play Friday

Tayshaun Prince did not play in Friday's loss to Memphis due to a coach's decision. It looks like Minnesota has decided to move Prince to the bench to give younger players more minutes in the second half of the season. Prince was a starter for most of the first half, but he may play a minimal role the rest of the season.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Will miss Wednesday's game

Tayshaun Prince (personal) will not play Wednesday against the Raptors.Prince will be attending Chauncey Billups' jersey retirement Wednesday night, therefore missing Minnesota's matchup against the Raptors. With Prince being sidelined, Zach LaVine could slide into the Minnesota Timberwolves' starting lineup and Shabazz Muhammad could pick up some extra minutes.

Timberwolves' Tayshaun Prince: Scores eight points in loss

Tayshaun Prince scored eight points (4-7 FG) to go with two assists, one rebound, and one steal across 20 minutes in Monday's 109-99 loss to the 76ers.It's the most points that Prince has scored in four games, which illustrates just how infrequently he's involved in the T-Wolves' offense. Coach Sam Mitchell seems to value the defensive energy Prince brings, though, so the veteran may continue to hang on to a starting role at small forward, despite his lack of exciting fantasy production.
