Ray Allen: Announces retirement Tuesday
Ray Allen announced his retirement from professional basketball Tuesday in an essay posted on The Players' Tribune.Allen hasn't played since the 2013-14 season, but over the last two years, he's received a number of overtures from contending clubs looking to add a three-point sniper off the bench. The 10-time All-Star never ended up being lured back to the game, and at 41 years old, he's decided to put to rest any thought on a comeback. He'll end his storied 18-year career as a two-time NBA champion and the NBA's all-time leader in three-point makes (2,973), which he hit at an outstanding 40 percent clip. Allen should be enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

Ray Allen: Reportedly considering return to NBA
Ray Allen is reportedly considering a return to the NBA for the upcoming season, according to ESPN.com's Chris Broussard.Multiple teams have reached out to Allen for both of the past two seasons, but the soon-to-be 41-year-old has resisted all overtures to this point. However, he's apparently kept himself in shape during that time, and could be willing to join either the Warriors, Cavaliers, Clippers and Spurs if he chooses to pursue of another championship ring. After adding Kevin Durant earlier this month following a 73-win season, the Warriors should be prohibitive favorites for the NBA title entering the 2016-17 campaign, and would likely be at the top of Allen's list if he were to sign with a team. Even at his age, Allen, the NBA's career leader in three-point field goals, is a lethal threat from distance, and would make for a useful weapon off the bench for any squad.
