Steven Adams C | HOU
Rockets' Steven Adams: Undergoes season-ending surgery
The Rockets announced Wednesday that Adams has undergone season-ending left ankle surgery, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
Adams was already viewed as out indefinitely with a Grade 3 sprain, but he officially won't be able to return during the 2025-26 campaign. The veteran big man averaged 5.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.8 minutes per contest through 32 games before going down, and he's under contract with Houston through the 2027-28 season. With Adams' year now over, Clint Capela and Dorian Finney-Smith are set to split the backup center duties behind Alperen Sengun.

Jusuf Nurkic C | UTA
Jazz's Jusuf Nurkic: Questionable for Wednesday
Nurkic (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Warriors.
Nurkic remains day-to-day after missing the front end of this back-to-back set Tuesday against the Clippers. The center has been red hot with three straight triple-doubles to his name. However, he's appeared in only seven of Utah's past 15 games.

Jonas Valanciunas C | DEN
Nuggets' Jonas Valanciunas: Drops 16 and 16 in defeat
Valanciunas ended with 16 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist and one block over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 109-107 loss to Detroit.
Valanciunas had one of his best games of the season in just his second game back from a calf injury that sidelined him for three weeks. His 16 rebounds were a season-best, while his 16 points were just one shy of his best scoring performance this year. He played 31 minutes, which is a good indicator of his recovery from that calf injury.

Mitchell Robinson C | NY
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Ruled out for Wednesday
Robinson won't play Wednesday against the Raptors due to left ankle injury management.
Robinson hasn't been cleared to play in both ends of back-to-back sets as the Knicks continue to exercise caution with the center after he required a second surgery on his left ankle in May 2024. He had a terrific showing in Tuesday's 103-87 win over the Kings even closed the game over Karl-Anthony Towns, finishing with seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds and two steals across 27 minutes.

Alex Sarr C | WAS
Wizards' Alex Sarr: Misses practice Wednesday
Sarr (illness) did not practice Wednesday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
Robbins notes that a bug is going around the locker room. At least for now, Sarr can be considered questionable for Thursday's game against the Bucks, which just happens to be the front end of a back-to-back set. The Wizards could rely on small-ball lineups if Sarr can't play, as Marvin Bagley (back) and Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring) have been banged up.

Moussa Cisse C | DAL
Mavericks' Moussa Cisse: Iffy for Wednesday
Cisse (G League - two-way) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves.
Cisse is no longer listed on the Mavericks' injury report with an illness, but he's not a lock to suit up Wednesday. He's on a two-way contract and has already been active for 38 games this season, so Cisse can suit up just 12 more times for the NBA club before Dallas would need to convert him to a standard deal in order for him to be eligible to play. Even if Cisse gets the green light to play, Daniel Gafford and Dwight Powell are still expected to see the bulk of the minutes at center.

Mitchell Robinson C | NY
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Cleans up glass in win
Robinson registered seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds and two steals across 27 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 103-87 win over the Kings.
The 27-year-old center continues to make an impact on the glass from the second unit. Robinson has recorded double-digit boards in seven of his last eight games, averaging 6.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals in 22.1 minutes over that span as he provides strong support in the frontcourt for Karl-Anthony Towns.

Karl-Anthony Towns C | NY
Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-double in Tuesday's win
Towns posted 17 points (5-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds and four assists over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 103-87 victory over the Kings.
The double-double was Towns' 30th of the season, tying him with Atlanta's Jalen Johnson for the NBA lead. Eight of them have come in 12 January games, as Towns is averaging 16.7 points, 10.6 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.5 threes and 1.0 steals in 28.4 minutes on the month.
