  • Jakob Poeltl C | TOR

    Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Deemed questionable

Poeltl (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Nets.

Poeltl is tending to a minor back injury, and head coach Darko Rajakovic said Saturday that the team wants to give him enough time to recover so that the injury doesn't linger deeper into the season. Poeltl has already missed two games due to the issue and is at risk of missing a third Sunday. If Poeltl winds up sitting, Sandro Mamukelashvili would likely draw another start.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Sitting out Sunday

Sarr (adductor) is out for Sunday's game against the Spurs.

Sarr recently had an extended absence with a right adductor injury, so the Wizards are exercising caution on the second half of their back-to-back. The second-year big man should be available for Tuesday's clash against the Hornets. Marvin Bagley (calf) and Tristan Vukcevic are in position to handle the center minutes Sunday.

  • Mavericks' Dereck Lively: Undergoes surgery on right foot

Lively successfully underwent surgery on his right foot Sunday.

Lively sought out multiple opinions on his right foot, but it was ultimately determined that season-ending surgery was the best course of action for the third-year center, and he's expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2026-27 season. Daniel Gafford and Dwight Powell will continue to serve as the main big men for Dallas behind Anthony Davis in Lively's absence.

  • Nuggets' Jonas Valanciunas: Scores 10 against Houston

Valanciunas supplied 10 points (5-10 FG), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal over 16 minutes during Saturday's 115-101 loss to the Rockets.

Valanciunas attempted double-digit shots for the first time since Oct. 25. As a result, he delivered his third game with at least 10 points in his last four outings. The 33-year-old center has been an excellent per-minute producer behind Nikola Jokic, but his 12.9 minutes per game leave him as an option only in deeper leagues.

  • Brook Lopez C | LAC

Clippers' Brook Lopez: Larger role after Zubac exit

Lopez tallied 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two blocks over 25 minutes during the Clippers' 103-88 win over the Lakers on Saturday.

Lopez entered Saturday's game averaging 14.2 minutes off the bench, but his 25 minutes were a season high and largely came after Ivica Zubac left in the first quarter due to a left ankle injury. Lopez would be an intriguing fantasy streamer at center for his rebounding and three-point proficiency if Zubac were to be sidelined for an extended period of time.

  • Kings' Dylan Cardwell: Swats five shots vs. Portland

Cardwell logged four points (1-3 FG, 2-6 FT), eight rebounds, five blocks and one steal over 21 minutes during the Kings' 98-93 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.

The undrafted rookie played a season-high 21 minutes during Saturday's loss, notably ahead of Precious Achiuwa (10) despite the latter starting. Cardwell has accumulated eight blocks over his last two NBA outings and appears to be solidifying himself as the Kings' backup center behind Maxime Raynaud. That trend could continue into the new year, at least for as long as Domantas Sabonis (knee) is sidelined.

  • Hornets' Ryan Kalkbrenner: Quiet in loss

Kalkbrenner finished with four points (2-3 FG), seven rebounds, two assists and one block in 24 minutes during Saturday's 112-86 loss to the Pistons.

Kalkbrenner scored fewer than five points for the fourth time in 26 games this season, and he failed to log multiple blocks for a second straight outing. The rookie center has slowed up slightly after a strong start to the campaign, averaging 7.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over his last 11 appearances.

  • Grizzlies' Brandon Clarke: Early exit Saturday

Clarke (calf) did not return to Saturday's game against the Wizards. He generated two points (1-2 FG), three rebounds and a steal across four minutes before exiting.

Clarke suffered a calf injury during the first quarter of Saturday's contest and was deemed doubtful to return. The 29-year-old never retook the floor after departing. Memphis has a back-to-back set that begins Monday against Oklahoma City.

  • John Collins PF | LAC

Clippers' John Collins: Steps up in decisive win

Collins chipped in 17 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 32 minutes during Saturday's 103-88 victory over the Lakers.

Ivica Zubac showed significant signs of injury before finally exiting the game, and Collins was exceptional in holding down the frontcourt in his absence. Although the team has Brook Lopez available to step in, Collins has begun to show consistency after suffering through a tough scoring slump in mid-November. Collins was brought in to help Zubac in the interior, but the veteran has plenty of experience holding down the five by himself. Zubac's potential absence could allow Collins to replicate some of the magic he showed in his days with Atlanta and Utah.

  • Kings' Maxime Raynaud: Records double-double in loss

Raynaud accumulated 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Saturday's 98-93 loss to Portland.

Raynaud is one of many big men who have tried to fill Domantas Sabonis' (knee) shoes, and one could argue that the 2025 second-round pick has been the most effective player to attempt the task. With Drew Eubanks (thumb) out until January and Precious Achiuwa failing to show consistency, the door is wide open for Raynaud to make a sizeable impact. The Stanford product should yield some short-term value in deeper leagues for those who need help at center.
