Pelicans' Yves Missi: Won't play in Rising Stars game

The Pelicans announced Friday that Missi has been diagnosed with a right knee hyperextension, but an MRI taken Thursday night showed no structural damage. The rookie big man will not compete in the Rising Stars game at the 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend and will be re-evaluated in one week.

Missi suffered his injury during Thursday's game versus the Kings but appears to have avoided a long-term issue. Bulls forward Matas Buzelis will replace him in the Rising Stars game Friday. Missi is expected to be re-evaluated ahead of New Orleans' matchup with Dallas on Feb. 21.

  • Naz Reid C | MIN

Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Leads team to upset win

Reid racked up a game-high 27 points (11-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, seven assists and one block over 38 minutes during Thursday's 116-101 victory over the Thunder.

With Rudy Gobert (back) and Julius Randle (groin) both unavailable, Reid stepped up and led all scorers on the night while setting new season highs in boards and assists. The 25-year-old big has started eight straight games in place of Randle, and over the last seven, he's averaged 21.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.0 threes and 1.4 blocks.

  • Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Double-double against Minnesota

Hartenstein supplied 10 points (5-6 FG), 12 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 27 minutes during Thursday's 116-101 loss to the Timberwolves.

It was the 19th double-double of the season for Hartenstein, and his fourth in 10 games since his late-January return from a calf issue. The 26-year-old center is averaging 9.7 points, 11.3 boards, 3.5 assists and 0.9 blocks over that stretch in 27.2 minutes a contest while shooting 57.9 percent from the floor.

  • Chet Holmgren PF | OKC

    Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Double-double in Thursday's loss

Holmgren supplied 11 points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 30 minutes during Thursday's 116-101 loss to the Timberwolves.

After sitting out Wednesday's contest, Holmgren returned to handle his biggest workload in three appearances since recovering from a fractured hip and produce his fifth double-double of the season. With additional rest coming over the All-Star break, Holmgren could have some of his workload restrictions lifted when the Thunder resume play Feb. 21 in Utah.

  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Double-double despite early exit

Sengun amassed 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one steal in 27 minutes during Thursday's 105-98 loss to the Warriors.

While the fourth-year center did contribute his 32nd double-double of the season, Sengun was one of the Rocket starters benched by coach Ime Udoka for the entire fourth quarter in an effort to generate a comeback from a 12-point deficit. Not counting a Feb. 9 game in which he played only three minutes due to back trouble, Sengun heads into the All-Star break averaging 19.4 points, 12.8 boards, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals over his last five contests.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Owns glass in near 30-rebound game

Sabonis posted 22 points (10-16 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 28 rebounds and five assists over 43 minutes during Thursday's 140-133 overtime loss to the Pelicans.

Sabonis dominated the paint Thursday, entering the All-Star break leading all Kings players in rebounds and concluding two boards shy of a 30-rebound performance in an overtime defeat. Sabonis matched a season high in boards, a mark he also tallied Jan. 10 against Boston. He has now recorded at least 20 points and 20 rebounds four times.

  • Jazz's Kyle Filipowski: Career-high 20 points Thursday

Filipowski posted 20 points (8-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and 10 rebounds over 37 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 120-116 overtime loss to the Clippers.

It was the third double-double of the year for Filipowski, who stepped up with a career-high 20 points in the absence of Walker Kessler (thumb). Through 10 contests as a starter in 2024-25, Filipowski has averaged 9.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.6 steals in 24.6 minutes. With the rebuilding Jazz getting buried in the Western Conference standings ahead of the All-Star break, it wouldn't be surprising to see the rookie big man make additional starts down the stretch of the year.

  • John Collins PF | LAC

Jazz's John Collins: Productive outing in loss

Collins posted 17 points (5-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 41 minutes during Thursday's 120-116 overtime loss to the Clippers.

Collins put together a productive outing, a common occurrence for him in 2024-25. The star forward has averaged 18.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 0.7 steals in 32.4 minutes across his last nine outings, but a lack of availability may continue to be an issue with the rebuilding Jazz down the stretch of the campaign. Collins has been active for only 10 of Utah's last 22 games.

  • Mavericks' Daniel Gafford: Out at least six weeks

Gafford was diagnosed Thursday with a Grade 3 right MCL sprain and will miss at least six weeks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Charania had initially reported Tuesday that the Mavericks would re-evaluate Gafford in two weeks after injuring his knee in Monday's overtime loss to the Kings, but after being diagnosed with a Grade 3 sprain, the veteran center will be in line for an even more extended absence. With Anthony Davis (adductor) and Dereck Lively (ankle) also facing long-term absences, the Mavericks will likely have to lean more heavily on small-ball lineups featuring P.J. Washington (ankle), Kessler Edwards or Olivier-Maxence Prosper at center during the second half of the season. With Gafford now likely to remain out until at least early April, he can safely be dropped in most redraft formats.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Picks up knee injury

Missi won't return to Thursday's game against the Kings due to a right knee injury. He registered two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds and one block in 12 minutes before departing.

Missi was noticeably absent for most of the second quarter, and the team announced shortly after the beginning of the second half that Missi wouldn't return. Karlo Matkovic started the second half in Missi's place and should be in line for extended minutes over the final two quarters.
