  • Grant Williams PF | CHA

Hornets' Grant Williams: Sitting out Wednesday

Williams (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Boston.

Williams will end up getting a maintenance day for the second leg of a back-to-back set after playing 21 minutes in Tuesday's 117-90 win over the Mavericks. With the veteran big man sitting out, the Hornets could have a few extra minutes available off the bench for Sion James and Josh Green.

  • 76ers' Kelly Oubre: Won't play Wednesday

Oubre (illness) is out for Wednesday's game against Utah, per Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com.

Oubre is now set to miss both halves of Philadelphia's back-to-back set. Trendon Watford, Justin Edwards and Jabari Walker are all candidates to join the starting lineup Wednesday, as VJ Edgecombe (back) is joining Oubre in street clothes.

  • VJ Edgecombe SG | PHI

76ers' VJ Edgecombe: Sitting out Wednesday

Edgecombe (back) will not play Wednesday against the Jazz, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.

Edgecombe suffered a lumbar contusion Tuesday against the Spurs, and it sounds like he will be listed as day-to-day going forward. The rookie will be re-evaluated ahead of Saturday's game versus Atlanta. In the meantime, the 76ers could lean more on Quentin Grimes and Cameron Payne.

  • Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Won't play Wednesday

Robinson (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder.

As he usually does, Robinson will sit for the second leg of this back-to-back set. With Robinson sidelined, the Knicks will likely turn to Ariel Hukporti as their backup center Wednesday.

  • Ty Jerome SG | MEM

Grizzlies' Ty Jerome: Scores 14 points in loss

Jerome (thigh) ended with 14 points (4-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 24 minutes during Tuesday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves.

After missing the last two games while recovering from a left thigh contusion, Jerome was back in the starting five but struggled to find his rhythm from the field. Since being cleared to make his season debut Jan. 31 after a lengthy recovery from a right calf strain, Jerome has yet to play in both ends of the three back-to-back sets that the Grizzlies have had. With that in mind, Jerome could be held out of action for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

  • Cedric Coward SG | MEM

Grizzlies' Cedric Coward: Fares well off bench

Coward (knee) finished with 15 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 117-110 loss to the Timberwolves.

Back in action after a seven-game absence due to a right knee posterior capsule sprain, Coward was deployed off the bench and had his minutes managed, but he made the most of his time on the court. The Grizzlies have been cautious with all their key players coming off of injuries, so Coward could be a candidate to sit out Wednesday against the Trail Blazers in the second leg of a back-to-back set.

  • Pelicans' Karlo Matkovic: Left out of rotation

Matkovic (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Tuesday in the Pelicans' 110-101 loss to the Lakers.

For the first time since Dec. 31, Matkovic failed to see any run off the bench, ending a streak of 27 consecutive appearances during which he shot 62.2 percent from the field and averaged 6.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 assists in 15.9 minutes per game. Matkovic's absence from the rotation was a byproduct of interim head coach James Borrego's decision to restructure the starting lineup. Borrego went with a smaller starting five featuring Zion Williamson at center, resulting in DeAndre Jordan moving to the bench and serving as one of the Pelicans' backup big men along with Derik Queen and Yves Missi.

  • Moussa Cisse C | DAL

Mavericks' Moussa Cisse: Inactive for Tuesday's loss

Cisse (two-way) was inactive for Tuesday's 117-90 loss to the Hornets.

Cisse had appeared in each of the Mavericks' previous three games and averaged 3.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in 13.7 minutes over that stretch, but Dallas opted to hold him out Tuesday in an effort to preserve his availability for the remainder of the season. Since the two-way center has already suited up for 45 games at the NBA level this season, he'll be eligible to play in just five of the team's remaining 21 contests unless the Mavericks upgrade him to a standard contract.

  • Grizzlies' Olivier-Maxence Prosper: Lands two-year deal

The Grizzlies signed Prosper to a standard two-year deal Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Prosper was previously on a two-way contract, but the forward has impressed in recent outings with so many injuries on the roster. Over his last five games, he's averaging 11.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 three-pointers in 23.0 minutes per contest.

  • Aaron Gordon PF | DEN

Nuggets' Aaron Gordon: Eyeing return Friday

Gordon (hamstring) is targeting a return to the Nuggets lineup Friday against the Knicks, Sam Amick of The Athletic reports.

Gordon has been sidelined for Denver's last 16 games after aggravating a right hamstring injury Jan. 23, and while playing in Thursday's game against the Lakers appears to be off the table, the veteran forward may have a shot at being available for the second leg of a back-to-back set. After such a lengthy layoff due to the hamstring injury, Gordon will likely face a strict minutes restriction in his first game back in action and could be brought off the bench.
