Coach Matt Nagy said Monday that Dalton (knee) will start Week 5 if healthy, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Nagy appears intent on making a decision about his starter by Wednesday's first practice of the week. Rookie signal-caller Justin Fields avoided mistakes during Sunday's divisional win over the Lions, and he connected on a handful of deep throws, but a lack of touchdowns or significant rushing yards kept him from finding fantasy success. Meanwhile, Dalton's only complete game in a Bears uniform came Week 1 against the Rams, when he was held to 206 passing yards with one interception and one lost fumble.
