Royal (toe) didn't participate at Wednesday's practice.
Royal hasn't practiced in nearly one calendar month as he tends to a toe injury, a span in which he recorded three receptions for seven yards over two outings before logging back-to-back DNPs. There's no indication that a return is nigh, but even if he does make another appearance this season, his chemistry with current starting QB Matt Barkley is undetermined, and No. 1 wideout Alshon Jeffery is about to return from a four-game suspension.
